2013 NISSAN ALTIMA Complaints

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that upon coming to a complete stop, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that soon after the restart, the vehicle again stalled without warning. She also stated that the vehicle would hesitate while in reverse with an abnormal, clunking sound coming from the engine. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle and that the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle started hesitating. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact parked on the side of the street for approximately 10 minutes before continuing driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and had an unknown component tied; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

The lowbeam headlights have gotten extremely dim. I have not driven this car at night for some time, and on October 5th, 2021 I did drive at night. When I switched my lights to lowbeam for oncoming traffic and could not believe how dim they were!! My lowbeam headlights barely projected 50 feet. There is no way in the world I can safely drive this car at night anymore!!!! I changed the halogen bulbs and it made no difference. After searching the internet I found out this is a common problem with this model/year Nissan. Why hasn't a recall been issued?!?! The only way I can safely drive this car at night would be to replace both headlight assemblies, and I do not have the $$ to do that. Please Help!

When a passenger sits in the front seat the airbag light on the dashboard indicates the airbag isn't armed. I have had a Nissan dealer "fix" it three times and it starts again in a few weeks. First time dealer said a connection came loose when the seat was adjusted. Same thing the second time and the third time they said they secured the connection. the light came on in a matter of weeks again . I will take the car back for a fourth time soon. I asked the dealer service rep if there were any service bulletins regarding this problem, he said there weren't any, I feel that I can't have the only car with this problem. Whenever there is a passenger in the front seat I worry about being involved in an accident and their airbag not deploying.

The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to a storage garage. The contact called and notified the local dealer about the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that both headlamp assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

Gear shift got stuck in park one day at grocery store. When trying to shift out of park the gear shift will not shift. We had to engage the shift override button using a screwdriver. This is dangerous because having the shift override button exposed makes it easy for anyone to shift the car out of park accidentally. We plan to take the vehicle to a dealer on 10/1/2021 to have it inspected. Second issue : low beam headlights are very dim not bright at all making it difficult to see at night without using my high beams which is dangerous to myself and other drivers.

The contact stated the driver’s side frontal air bag and the passenger’s side frontal air bag sensors were replaced under an unknown recall; however, the air bag sensor warning lights had been illuminating while starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of repair because the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 10,984.

2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NHSTA SAFETY RECALL 20V-315. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PARTS NECESSARY FOR THE RECALL WERE UNAVAILABLE.

Headlights are extremely Dull, making night time driving dangerous. Headlight projector reflector is defective in all 2013 Hologen Bulb headlight assembly's. Driving at night or on wet roads, vision is extremely impaired, a danger to driver and pedestrians. I have contacted the Dealership, and they have no knowledge of any recalls in progress.
