2007 NISSAN MURANO Complaints

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle started swerving side to side without warning. The contact was able to pull over safely. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the front driver’s and passenger’s side subframe was rusted. The control arms and the subframe was replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 101,000.

Rear sub-frame broke by rear stabilizer and caused the tire’s to turn in on top, bad design from a rich company makes Nissans throw away and will kill someone . Cheap design and will stay away from Nissans in future.

Have been driving Murano thinking only needed 4 wheel alignment. Rear wheels as I was told some time ago looked like to tow in I think you call it was off, leaning in. Took to garage, mechanic stated, k- frame completely rusted in half on both sides. Stabilizer bar just dangling. Stated it's a wonder I had not been killed. Why would Nissan avoid this issue. I will put date discovered, but I believe date was years sooner as I only drive in local area.

The frame has rusted out of the vehicle at only 156,000 miles. It is unsafe as the rear suspension and sway bars are no longer connected to the frame. This causes unsteady movement and swaying when in motion endangering the driver and others on the road. The problem was confirmed by a professional mechanic. I have not had it inspected by the manufacturer nor another party. There were no warning lamps only the onset of severe instability regarding the suspension.

Took my car in for a front end alignment and wobbling in the rear when hit bumps. Informed that the rear subframe is completely corroded and “rotted out”. Quoted repair cost of $3900, and the car is deemed unsafe to drive in its current condition.

After inspecting car found that there was a lot of rust on my rear subframe making it unsafe to use this vehicle anymore. Cost of repairs are well over 2,000. This vehicle had just turned 100k miles when this happened.

I took my car in to get a tire alignment and the mechanic could not do it and pointed out the rusted out sub rear frame on the driver side. I took to a auto collision shop and will not touch it for liability reasons. if im driving 70 mph down the interstate and the back wheel bends in from the rust, there is going to be a serious accident. i am without a vehicle at the moment till this is resolved. There are hundreds of posts of the same problem online and suprised there is not a recall. I am the least dramatic person but i fear for the safety of my life if i keep driving the way it is if not fixed.
