Component/System: Engine — Main Bearing (KR15 VC-Turbo Engine Recall 25V-197) I own a 2023 Nissan Rogue manufactured in Smyrna, Tennessee, equipped with the 1.5 L VC-Turbo (KR15) engine. Nissan issued a safety recall stating that the engine bearings could fail and cause sudden loss of power while driving, but the company still has no remedy or repair available. I have been told by the dealership and Nissan Consumer Affairs to “drive the vehicle as minimally as possible” due to the risk of stalling or crashing. This situation puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle could lose power at highway speed without warning. I must continue to make car payments for a vehicle I am afraid to drive, and Nissan has not provided a loaner or alternate transportation despite repeated requests. The issue was confirmed by both a Nissan dealer and independent mechanics, who verified that the vehicle has the KR15 engine affected by the recall and noted that it drives roughly and feels shaky. A diagnostic scan showed a code stored in the telematics/GPS system, though no warning lights are illuminated. I have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs multiple times, and they have documented my case but have not provided any solution or inspection. As of October 2025, the promised repair “available in October” has not been released. The vehicle remains in use only when absolutely necessary and is available for inspection upon request. Warning indicators: No check-engine or dashboard warning lights; symptoms include rough driving and engine vibration beginning earlier this year (2025).

My mechanic has discovered metal shavings on my engine oil dipstick. This is a serious condition caused by defective engine bearings. This defects can cause engines to seize which can cause crashes, and injury/death. Nissan is aware of this manufacturing defect and has not provided me with a recall notice or a remedy.

I've been waiting for Nissan to come up for a remedy for recall # 25V - 437. I've called the dealership several times and have been told that there isn't a remedy yet for the problem. I first started calling about six weeks ago once I found out about the recall and its potential problems and hazards.

2023 NISSAN ROGUE- BENTON, AR
I bought my 2023 Nissan Rogue back in May. Then in June or July, I noticed a huge bulge on the sidewall on my left front driver's side of my car. I had to have it replaced immediately, in which I did, at Walmart. Fast forward to September 30, and I went to mclarty to have an oil change cause Walmart will no longer do them because of some sort of plastic oil seal that they have broken several times and their boss said no more oil changes on them. While at mclarty they found a bad front left quick strut and basically accused me of hitting something and hitting it hard for it to do that much damage. I did not hit anything at all!! I feel that this damage was done to my vehicle before I bought it and I don't feel that I should have to pay for something that I didn't do and that the mechanics should have found, if in fact they did do their inspection before selling it to me. The inspection was supposedly done. Signed, very unhappy and irrate customer

No incident yet but filing a complaint because the recall process is taking too long. I called the Nissan phone number on the recall site and the automated system stated letters will be sent out the end of December. My dealer offers a loaner car for repairs up to 36,000 miles and I will be beyond that by the end of December. Nissan is very ambiguous as to coverage for a rental car during the repair. My dealer has been very slow with repairs in the past and an engine replacement could take weeks. They had the vehicle 1 week just to replace a seat cushion. They had it 4 weeks to replace the PVC hose.
