The contact owns a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the dealer for service under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V701000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however after the service the vehicle started but did not idle due to an air intake hose not reinstalled on the vehicle. The contact stated that the air intake hose needs to be replaced however, the repairs have not been completed. The contact stated that before taking the vehicle into service the manufacturer was made aware of an issue with the dealer due to his interaction with the service manager. He was worried that the dealer was not going to service his vehicle correctly. The contact did not have a case number available as he stated that he had contacted the manufacturer several times. The contact stated that the vehicle had no issues before the recall service. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000.

The seatbelts do not click into the buckle properly and the springs have broken.

Power steering torque sensor. My wife was picking up my daughter and the power steering light came on the display and she couldn't steer got scared almost crashed. When the car is at idle the wheel just shakes.

This abrupt failure of such a critical component renders the car unsafe to drive. The specific component that failed is the steering rack, and it is available for inspection upon request. The safety risk emerged as the vehicle became increasingly difficult to control, heightening the potential for accidents and injuries to both myself and others on the road. While the problem has been confirmed by an independent service center, it has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or any other entities. No warning lamps or messages were indicating an issue with the steering system before the failure. The decline in steering responsiveness happened suddenly, and no pre-existing symptoms were evident. Given the severity of this safety concern, I strongly urge the NHTSA to promptly investigate and consider a recall. Failure to address this potential defect could result in preventable accidents and injuries to drivers, passengers, and other motorists. Your expeditious attention to this matter is crucial for ensuring public safety.

I was driving down the road around 25 miles per hour and I heard a beep like a chime and then power steering went out making it very hard to control the vehicle. Power steering was flashing on the dashboard. Turn vehicle off then back on it was fine and then a mile down the road done it again

When I was driving the power steering went completely out, almost causing me to wreck… turned car off and on, it was working fine the boom happened again. I notice reading previous recalls this has been an issue in the past

The contact owns a 2006 Pontiac G6. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and pulling into a parking space, the steering wheel became stiff and failed to turn. The power steering failure message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the electric steering assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V064000 (Steering) but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

Power steering goes out when it wants to, will go back on if you turn the car on and off , my safety for me and my daughter was at risk I couldn’t stop to turn it on and off because I wasn’t at a red light , it has not been inspected but it seems like the problem is we’ll known ,theirs a warning message that will pop up on the radio that you can’t hear go on or see until it’s to late

Power steering popped up on radio whenever I turn it to the left or right while driving.

As there is a NHTSA recall notice on the 2004 Toyota Matrix for a Takata air bag risk of explosion with shrapnel, should there also be a similar notice on the 2004 Pontiac Vibe, which is practically the same vehicle and was manufactured at the same plant in CA?
