On Friday, January 9, 2026, my Ram 1500 lost all power and would not re-start for approximately 15 minutes on Folsom-Auburn Road, in Folsom, a 50 mph speed limit road. After appox. During that time I blocked traffic in the left hand lane, unable to restart the truck. 15 minutes later (with a tow on the way) it started and has been running without issue since. I brought my truck to the local dealer, Folsom Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, on Wednesday, January 14. They tracked the problem to a failing electrical module below the rear window. It is corroding because the rear window started leaking. The total repair estimate was approx. $5000. My truck is a 2022, I bought it new in January, 2022 and it has 45,000 miles. In addition to the manufacturer's warranty I purchased Mopar's Max Care plan, with coverage for 85,000 miles and 8 years. In spite of this, Mopar denied the warranty claim. However, after speaking with the dealer's service manager and asking for good-will coverage, Mopar agreed to pay for 80% of the repair cost. The repair is now pending receipt of parts, which the dealer anticipates may take up to three weeks to collect. I am still driving the truck, as I rely on it for transportation.

My 2022 Ram 1500 is experiencing a "lurching" or "bumping" forward and backwards when moving from park to drive or reverse. The issue is most apparent after coming to a stop and releasing the brake to accelerate. You can feel a "Bump" sensation as the drivetain re-engages. Have taken to dealer and been told this is "normal operation" but I refuse to accept it. Have been researching this a lot lately and have found many instances of other trucks experiencing the same issue with no fix. Links to examples of others in the same situation below. [XXX] [XXX] The problem lies in the binding of drive shaft slip yoke. Either in the 2 piece driveshaft splines OR at the transfer case. Many are temporarily remedying the issue by applying grease to the splines and this prevents the binding for a temporary amount of time. I was trying to park my vehicle in my garage, where I need to get within 1-2" from the wall for the garage door to close. When I try to release the brake to creep towards the wall, the truck lurches as the binding releases and bumps into the wall. No damage/injury occured but if Ram doesn't address this with a repair or some sort of remedy, someone may be injured. The same issues related to NHTSA Preliminary Evaluation PE24018. Engine stall while stopped at a red light on, battery warning light on, vehicle voltage gauge extreme low, auto start light came on. It took several tries to get the truck started again. This has happened SEVERAL times since purchasing the vehicle in early 2022. Sometimes the check engine light comes on. Once it took several hours for the vehicle to restart.

The MGU on my Ram 1500 failed while driving down a main road in my town. A rattling noise started and the check engine light turned on and I called the dealership that same day to have it serviced. The dealership could not get me in for a few days so I did not drive the truck again until the day I could take it in. On my way to the dealership I got a half mile down the road from my house and all sorts of warning lights started flashing and the truck turned the emergency brake on itself as I was driving down the road. This put in a lot of danger because I was stuck and couldn’t get the car to start or even shift anymore and was stuck in the roadway. I had the truck towed to the dealership and they said this has been a common issue with the Ram Etorque engines, so the part is on back order and will take 7 months to get replacement. I feel if Ram knows this is a common issue for such a major component leading to such potential danger, they should recall this vehicle.

Go to start the truck and the tailgate comes down and clicking in the harness underneath the dash. This could happen going down the road. Not able to see camera when backing up because tailgate automatically goes down. This drains the battery when the truck is completely turned off. Dealer said corrosion and water got in the harness on a 3 year old truck. I'm left paying $1700 out of pocket on a three year old truck.

While looking at preliminary evaluation reports, I noticed there is one for the same problem I've had a few times now. My engine stalled at low speed, put it self in park, applied the parking brake and the warning light for battery problems came on. I had to shut the truck down and restart it. This is at least the 3rd time it's happened. This is going to kill someone eventually. It's always happened to me after I came to a complete stop at a stop sign and am moving in to an intersection. I'm stuck there for a few seconds while cars are coming at me. Once they came very close to hitting me. The truck stayed in this mode until I got home and shut it off. I turned it back on the next day and it has been fine since. The photo I attached is of the low voltage notification the most recent time it occurred.

Engine stalled while driving at low speeds told me shift into park with no warning lights or messages at all. Got it started again and then stalled out again while I was trying to accelerate. I pulled over and it wouldn’t start right away but eventually I was able to get it started back up to drive it home. Could it be a software issue in the PCM
