2016 RAM 1500 Complaints

My ABS brake module has failed with warning lights just appearing this month (9/19/25) and I took it to the local RAM Dealer for confirmation of the problem on (09/30/25) and the Ram/Stellantis dealer told me the part is not available anymore, the internet research confirms Stellantis stopped producing the necessary module for my year truck. My truck is paid off and the dealer (Naples Dodge) told me my options was to trade it in to them for a new vehicle offering me only 8000 dollars for my truck. Then they charged me a diagnostic fee for a repair issue they cannot even fix, this seems like a manufactured problem to force customers of older trucks to upgrade to a more expensive vehicle. I only have basic brake systems now, no ABS obviously a safety risk.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that at start-up, the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was on empty, even though the fuel tank was full. Additionally, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, with the message “Fuel Sensor Failure” displayed. The local dealer was not contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I have a 2016 ram 1500 with 25,000 miles on it. the electronic steering went out on me and almost caused me to wreck into other traffic. they do have some 2016 ram trucks that have recalls on contaminated steering issues but mine did not qualify. after doing research it seems many other owners are in the same situation with the steering going out for no reason. I took the truck to the dealer and had recalls done to it but the steering was not on my trucks recall list. The issue is a danger and could have caused a really bad highway accident due to the steering going out. I think this issue needs to be told before more highway accidents or fatalities happen before this issue is addressed. Thanks

Anti Lock/skid brake module doesn't work, anti lock, anti skid, & Brake warning lights are all on. Service repairman informed me Ram stopped making repair parts for this. Problem is constant and has caused locked brakes, skid and a near collision. Warning lights on continuous. What am I supposed to do about this? I have a $20,000 vehicle unsafe to drive and can't repair.

On [XXX] the power steering icon on my dash turned on. I was parked at post office and had to call tow truck as I could not turn the wheel. I was fortunate that I was not driving as a week prior I was driving from Morro Bay to Bakersfield, I currently am dealing with tennis elbow and it would have been impossible to steer if it failed while driving. The truck is currently at my local dealership and they have verified that it needs a replacement EPS rack to resolve the issue. I was on my way home from work, stopped at the local post office and my traction control light flashed for a few minutes. I arrived at local post office, turned truck off and when I returned to my vehicle to turn on the red light signaling that power steering had failed. The contact stated that the vehicle went into limp mode. In addition, the contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that a nearby driver honked the horn, and the contact was informed that fire was coming from underneath the front of the vehicle. The contact parked the vehicle and turned the vehicle off. The contact called the fire department. The contact had a fire extinguisher in the vehicle. The contact extinguished the fire prior to the fire department's arrival. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the dealer does not repair the engine; the dealer only replaces the engine. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had previously occurred in November 2024. The contact stated that the failure descriptions. The contact stated that the failure was diagnosed as a failed intake manifold and oil in the turbocharger. The intake manifold, the EGR valve, and the turbocharger were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

Traction control light, brake light and abs light all on. Has been burning my 3rd light bulb and dash speedometer goes blank sometimes when driving. Also feels like brakes are engaged while driving sometimes. Check engine light come on and off sometimes. I was told it was The ABS CONTROL MODULE BY DODGE DEALER SHIP. ALSO TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT SOMETIMES. Have to turn vehicle off to reset. But sometimes it takes several of times to reset.

The contact owned a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while making a right turn onto a main road, a passing vehicle crashed into the front driver's side quarter panel of the contact's vehicle. No property damage was reported, the vehicles came to a stop upon impact, and the air bags did not deploy. The speed of the other vehicle at the time of the crash was unknown. The contact's vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact, seated in the driver's seat, and a passenger seated in the front passenger seat were both injured. No one outside the vehicle was reported to be injured. The contact sustained injuries to her face, a broken nose, a hematoma to the left eye and left cheek, and severe headaches accompanied by various bruises across the left arm, and the passenger sustained bruises across their arms. Medical treatment was needed for the injuries. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

ABS Control Module is bad so ABS no longer functions. This has been confirmed my a mechanic. ABS light, Traction control light and BRAKE light on dashboard are all on. Replacement part is no longer manufactured so it can not be repaired.

The front strap that holds the gas tank up broke loose from the frame rusting out.
