2022 RAM 1500- Lebanon, IN
Two week Monday July 6, around 3:15pm while driving down on highway passing lane suddenly the vehicle start loosing speed and after few seconds I noticed that the engine stalled. No warning light or anything, the steering wheel turns to very heavy and the break pedal is really hard as well. Fortunately near by there was a U-turn lane for authorized vehicles only and I was able to merge to it and stop. After that I was able to start the vehicle immediately with no issues. Behind me there were at least 10 other cars trying to pass a line of semi trucks and I was lucky to nobody crash on my rear. I took the vehicle to the dealer, they run tests and tried to reproduce but no success. Besides the dealer no one checked anything due to there was no substantial damage or anything. Actually this was the second time that the vehicle engine stalled. First time was couple months back while my wife was driving in low speed trying to move out from a stopping light and the engine stalled.

when i am driving and going left through a roundabout a few minutes from my house my engine just shuts off, no warning lights on the dash. this has now happened twice this year (2026) most recent was Tuesday 7/7/26, i have 38,089 miles on it. there were cars behind me both times luckly both times i was able to stop as the light was red just after the roundabout put it in park and it started right up. the dealer thinks it could be somthing in the area that has the same frequency as my truck. this is becuse his aunt had a ford that when she went to the same local convenience store her car wouldn't start up and that dealer said it was the same frequency as the fuel pumps at that store. im not buying that.

Traveling down I64 Eastbound towing a 24' enclosed trailer loaded with 2 RZRs in my 2022 Ram 1500 Limited, a check engine light came on. I decided I'd get off at the next exit to have it looked at as we're one hour into a 3.5 hr drive. Within one or two mins of the check engine light dinging, another dash light came on in the form of a red battery with a lightning bolt. I had no idea what that was, but immediately after that light coming on, every light on the dash started blinking and the burnt electric smell flooded the cabin. I immediately put on the hazard lights and started to pull onto the shoulder and slow it down...but the brake pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes. I then steered the truck off the shoulder and into the grass and the soft ground (it was raining) helped slow it down, but we had to jump out of the truck before it had stopped as the overwhelming white smoke was about to asphyxiate us. The truck was down to about 5 mph when we had to jump out. The truck was completely engulfed in flames within just a few mins.

We purchased a Rhino USA Adjustable Trailer Hitch with locking hitch pins on Amazon. On its very first use, while towing our empty 1,600-pound Forester camper, the steel pin fractured where it enters the locking head. We heard the pin snap while making a slow turn about a quarter mile from our home. The locking head detached and was later found on the roadway. Fortunately, the pin remained in the receiver long enough for us to get home, but this could easily have resulted in the ball mount sliding out of the receiver and a trailer separation. We have retained both pieces of the failed pin and have photographs. Because the locking head detached and was found on the roadway, while the remaining pin stayed in the receiver only by chance, this failure had the potential to allow the ball mount to exit the receiver during travel which could be deadly to those on the highway. We have reported this to the manufacturer, but have not heard from them yet.

The power steering rack/steering gear malfunctioned on my 2022 Ram 1500 at approximately 25,000 miles. Repair estimate is about $4,000. This appears to be a premature steering-system failure and creates a safety concern because steering assist failure can affect vehicle control.

The power steering failed abruptly. The problem is in the electronic power steering rack. The warning light appeared simultaneous with the failure. Fortunately, the failure occurred in a parking lot rather than on the road. The truck is very difficult to steer without power steering.
