In December 2021, my husband, [XXX] and I purchased a 2016 Ram 1500. We currently only have 37,600 miles on it. Last month, my husband brought the truck into the dealership because the ABS light would occasional light up. We were advised that the ABS module needs to be replaced, but the part was backordered and has been for years apparently. On July 11, 2024, I called and spoke to MOPAR RAM representative Kimberly (Case No. [XXX]) and was told all ABS modules for RAMs are under "engineering review" that there was no eta on the parts and that they could do nothing. Obviously we have put very low millage on the truck and only purchased a few years ago. Having an ABS issue is considerably a huge safety concern and renders the truck un-drivable. When I discussed with Mopar's service representative, she said she could do or tell me anything further. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This complaint is to acknowledge a problem with my 2016 Ram 1500; I understand that NHTSA is currently investigating the issue. I urge NHTSA to require a recall on this in order to expedite a solution. The following warning lights are present: service ABS system, traction control, check engine, brake (parking brake engaged), check fuel tank cap; the turn signals also blink fast and problem message is present. Inspection is available upon request. The main safety concern is whether or not the brakes are functioning properly. It seems as though the dealer is aware of this widespread issue and the parts needed to fix the issue are unavailable and have been unavailable for an extended time. October 2023 is the date when I had the truck evaluated, if I recall correctly.

Later Engine, power steering, air suspension, anti skid alerts began to appear is sequence. Cruise control and other electrical feature will not work during alert. Last anywhere between 5 and 30 or more minutes. Happened 2 days ago while on vacation road trip to Gulf. In Gulf shores now. Now I get an email from dealer about purchasing car insurance repair plan. Seems odd on the timing. Please help. Vehicle will restart and go into gears. Power steering may not work for up to five minutes. Have to stop and restart. Sporadic operation. Suspect tactics by dealer repair database to get customers to buy repair insurance or get vehicle into shop/trade for new vehicle. Please help. Do not know if recent CDK hack involves my dealer.

Intermittent and random loss of electric power steering. Fuse coming off of positive battery terminal for power steering is good, and when power steering is working it functions without issue. Without sign or warning service power steering icon will flash on the dash, resulting in complete loss of power steering. This has been happening for 3 days now, and the power steering system has come back and gone back down countless times at random.
