2015 RAM 1500 Complaints

I believe that Ram and It’s parent company have intentionally not provided a recall fix for recall z46. If Ram refuses to provide a fix for the problem, and I’m forced to drive the vehicle that could stall and crash at any time is absolutely a safety hazard. I’ve contacted Ram cares and was told that if I’m not comfortable driving the vehicle, to just park it and wait for a fix. This company not only provides faulty and unsafe vehicles but then forces its owner to drive them with no fix provided.

2015 RAM 1500-Consumer states "truck stopped going 75 miles per hour" on the highway. Consumers husband had to pull over to the shoulder & truck refused to start again. Consumers husband call for a tow. The tow trucks policy is one rider. Consumers son is disable and relies on father to drive. Consumer states: "This left my husband to the mercy to flag down a car and ask them if they could take my son. That may not sound like a huge deal, but my son's disability causes him not to know directions or place and space. The fear of getting in a car with completely and total strangers, hoping they would take him to Paducah was horrifying to him and me. He's still having fearful thought about that event. He chewed his finger nails so bad that the hotel towel was covered with blood from anxiety. It was completely and utterly ridiculous. Two days were spent trying to figure out what the issue was with the Truck. The dealership put in a new computer board, that wasn't the issue. We got charged for that part. After the final analysis we were told it was the fuel pump and it was on recall. The time estimation to fix the truck was given 45 days to 3+ month - if not more- as the part has still not been created for this recall. We had to rent a vehicle for a month, costing $1,900.00. I called the Ram customer service 6 times just to be told by a Kelly that she would not give me a supervisor as I was requesting that the computer part ($850) and the month rental ($1,900.00) be reimbursed to us 35 there is no ETA of when we will get our vehicle hack. Case #86107003. We later were told that it has been stated that sometime the vehicles catch on fire due to this default. That's very scary as my husband said he could smell gas. Since the "customer service" agents did NOT allow me to speak to their supervisor's I was left to basically deal with a very expensive and unresolved loss of our vehicle due to RAM. They literal have given us no assistance or time frame of when our truck will be fixed. I am requesting that our expenses of t

catastrophic engine failure due to the failed high pressure fuel pump, last year march 2022 my truck started stalling then lost all power to the engine the truck would not start . i took the truck to my mechanic where he Found no crank signal while engine cranking and sounded to be out of time. he Tested fuel flow from lift pump and found it to be correct. Tested injector weep line return flow and found no return this is normal ,Tested fuel flow regulator at high pressure pump and also found no return while cranking this is normal. These test indicated that the high pressure pump has fail. Installed new high pressure pump and still no pressure. Removed pump and noticed it had not rotated from its timed installed location. This indicated that the drive gear is not rotating the pump and there is internal damage to engine. this damage happened due to the filed fuel pump.

Filing a complaint because this recall has been open for over a year with no remedy available.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated there was carbon monoxide fumes inside the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the exhaust manifold was cracked with fractured bolts. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

The ABS control module has failed over a year ago and factory replacement parts are unavailable. Mopar dealers advise they are on backorder with no expected delivery date. The failure of this unit disables the Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control and Electronic Speed Control.

Front Strap on gas tank failed while driving. Gas tank almost fell out and 2nd strap getting ready to fail. Completely pulled out of the frame. Also damaged drive shaft from strap rubbing into the metal.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, after driving several few feet, the vehicle stalled again. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the parts were not available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact was informed to contact the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 217,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I’ve experienced 3 separate incidents with this truck that resulted in the engine shutting down while in transit as follows: 12/6/2019: engine stalled when accelerating up a hill. Used momentum to pull mostly out of traffic lane. Towed to dealer where crankshaft positioning sensor was replaced under an extended warranty associated with the Ram Ecodiesel emissions related class action settlement. 5/21/2021: engine stalled while towing a boat up hill on the interstate. Had to cross right lane traffic to the shoulder causing traffic behind and to the side to swerve and honk. Just made it to the shoulder. Diesel fuel was leaking. Towed to local diesel shop where high pressure fuel line was replaced at my expense. This would have been replaced under the aforementioned warranty had it been towed to a Ram service center. 5/28/2023: engine stalled while towing a boat on the interstate. Coasted to the right lane and down an exit where I made it to the shoulder. Had it towed to the nearest dealer who reported the engine as seized and in need of replacement. Ram customer service will not discuss any financial assistance in replacing the engine or in the cost of an engine tear down to determine the cause of the failure even though it’s possibly related to the outstanding fuel pump recall or the previously mentioned emissions recall . In all instances, especially those on the interstates, I felt that I was at risk of being involved in or causing an accident as I had no control over maintaining forward momentum. I opened a case with FCA Customer Care (case# 86310172 ) but they will not share the case information with me for reasons of policy, so I’ve no documentation to upload other than the engine replacement repair doc from the dealer. On 3/31/2023, [XXX](me) was traveling on New Jersey Turnpike. Tickets are issued at the entrance terminal (for CASH commerce) and drivers pay tollbooth attendants at exits by either CASH or EZ PASS (transponders). At Exit 2, on New Jersey Turnpike, a Tollbooth Attendant was absent, 3/31/2023 at 0434. The fee from the entrance terminal, on the New Jersey Turnpike, to exit 2, on the New Jersey Turnpike, is $2.05. I stopped and waited for tollbooth attendant at exit 2 on NJTP. I proceeded on route for my own safety and that of my own property, including a newly-purchased light utility vehicle registered in a different state other than NJ, assuming the obstruction was construction because safety cones diverted traffic in one of the 2 outgoing lanes (the EZ PASS lane, not the CASH lane). I received letter from New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTPA) headed FINAL NOTICE OF ENFORCEMENT ACTION on 5/25/2023 for $82.50.
