The contact owned a 2016 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 15 MPH from a traffic light, the vehicle was T-boned by another vehicle attempting to run the red light. The contact stated that the other vehicle crashed into the driver’s side front fender panel of the vehicle. The contact stated that the driver’s door was not impacted in the crash. The contact stated that the air bags deployed as needed. However, the contact’s wife was stuck in the vehicle, and unable to exit the vehicle because the doors failed to unlock. The contact stated that the vehicle had lost all electrical functions, causing the doors to remain closed. The contact stated that his wife was unable to move over to the passenger’s side front or rear to exit the vehicle. The contact stated that some pedestrians nearby were able to unlock the door from outside for his wife to exit the vehicle. The contact was concerned that his wife could have been killed if the vehicle had caught on fire or there was some other form of an emergency. The contact stated that his wife sustained a knee injury. Medical attention was not needed at the scene; however, the contact’s wife had since started receiving physical therapy for pain in her knee. The contact was unsure if the other driver had sustained any injuries. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I was parking my car at home when all of a sudden there was a violent/sudden drop in the front of my car. I initially thought I got a flat tire, but when I took a look the entire front suspension was shot and dropped as low as possible. The Model X feels and is very unsafe to drive and has a grainding sound like the car is about to fall a part.

I had cruise set at 60mph on 2 lane highway. Their were rumble strips in center as well as edges of the road. I approached 2 slow moving vehicles (adaptive cruise was on) and then used turn signal, took over control myself disabling adaptive cruise. I pulled back in across the center mark after passing vehicles. When i crossed the 12" wide center rumble strip my car immediately threw up a message on the screen and i could barely turn the wheel to prevent the car from driving into the ditch on my projected path back into my lane. The car got straight finally but the wheel was nearly impossible to turn. A few miles later, I approached my ramp to take and slowed down to 15mph under the ramp limit and it took nearly everything to get the wheel to turn 15 degrees to make my turn. i pulled off very slowly into a graveyard right off the road and parked the car. i took pictures of the messages on the screen "EPAS_w002 Steering may require increased effort" on the center screen and the similar message on the center screen "Steering assist reduced steering may require increased effort". I did a computer reboot (hold 2 buttons on steering wheel), left the car with my key and locked it ad walked away for a minute. I reapproached the car, it unlocked, and i turned the car back ON. Everything worked when i got on the highway with the exception of Autosteer (beta). It would not set, so i disabled it on the center screen. I turned it back on this morning (next day) and it is fully functioning again. I do not know how i didn't end up in the ditch at highway speeds, but i feel this needs reported and a solution found before I or someone else loses steering. I'm not sure the center rumble strip had anything to do with it or if it was coincidental, but the car always does a shimmy when you cross rumble strips in the center of the road (switching lanes) regardless of speed.

Hi, My steering wheel turning very hard even though NHTSA issued the the recall last month but your website says your vehicle is not on recall. Also my rear camara is working still Tesla said needs to be replace again even though Tesla replace in 2023 which is I paid. My autonomy is not working even though I paid $8000 plus $500 tax when I purchase my model X in 2016 for full self driving/ Tesla doesn't want to honor this to us. Hopefully NHTSA put my vehicle in recall list. Thanks for you help. Best regards

The Rear captain seats (6 seater middle row) are no longer stable. They both have a back and forth motion to them. The passenger side one makes a noticeably bad noise when the car is in motion. This is a sign that the seat is failing and has lost its proper fitment.

Rear camera lags to appear when the car is put in Reverse. At times when switching to Drive the rear camera image stays on the screen. Sometimes it works as inteneded and sometimes it doesn't. The computer has its moments.

Steering has become extremely stiff and requires strength to steer. I believe corrosion happens on the bolts or other steering components. I live in NYC where much salt and such is used to fight the snow. I've had the car for a long time and it happens yearly. Any questions please feel free to contact me. My 2016 Tesla Model X (VIN [XXX] ) was manufactured in March 2016 according to the sticker on the driver door. My car is experiencing the same issue as the Tesla Service Bulletin #SB-17-33-002 under NHTSA's recall # 17V2600 when putting the vehicle into drive or reverse from park. Tesla is stating they can not perform the service work because there is no recall specifically for my VIN# even though the car is showing the same error messages on the diagnostics screen and showing the same symptoms and failure as the recall and service bulletin. The repair requires the replacement of the parking brake calipers which is a safety issue if not replaced which could result in not properly functioning when needed. The vehicle is available for inspection. The vehicle displays warning messages not to drive the vehicle, the parking brake is not released and could cause damage to the brake pads if driven, and to take to the Tesla service center. Tesla is proposing the same repair and solution as the recall / service bulletin and wants to charge me $1,500 for something that should be under the recall, especially since my car was manufactured during the specified timeline of Feb 2016 to Oct 2016 and should fall under the safety issue with the same issue as the recall. This recall needs to include my VIN # and any Model X built during this timeframe. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2016 TESLA MODEL X- Greenfield, WI
Just got [XXX] yesterday morning. I have ~350 miles on this version now in ~24 hrs. FIRST TIME I've ever completely turned off FSD and went back to Autopilot Only. This release is Absolutely 100% DANGEROUS and needs to be pulled and rolled back ASAP Observations: 1: Does not Honor Turn Only lanes and drives straight through them. 2: CONSTANT lane switching no matter what setting it's on. 3: Lane changes without using turn signal. Example, in right lane, it FULLY changes lane to left lane using turn signal, then decides to just go right back to the right lane again without using turn signal cutting off other vehicles. 4: Speed issues, It can't decide on speeds. 45mph road. I do like 5mph over. With no other cars around, it will speed up to 55-60 (Above max setting) then drop down to 40-43mph. It's all over the [XXX] place! Even worse on Freeway. So it actively exceeds speed limits, as much as enough to get my license automatically revoked under Wisconsin Law! 5: Redesigned where set speed limit is displayed. No longer shows unless you actively change it. Then it disappears again. Need to constantly fiddle with set speed just to see how crazy it will decide to break the law, or how slow it will go and [XXX] other drivers. 6: Rolling stops, had a number of rolling stops today and one where it blew straight through a stop sign. 7: Route choices are absolutely alinidine. Seems to prioritize taking the least efficient routes. 8: Drives like a bucking bronco with accel and decell. 9: Ping pongs within the lane. 10: False emergency braking events. 11: Last release the double stop at stop signs had gotten better. This release they are full back again. It is once again stopping at both sides of the intersection. 12: Vehicle departing lane warnings when driving manually, even when my TURN SIGNAL IS ON so I can pull into a parking lot or my own driveway! With the above, there have been no other changes other than firmware update. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.

When shifting into Reverse the rear camera is delayed to be displayed. This to me is a safety concern.
