2024 TESLA MODEL Y Complaints

After Tesla Berkeley performed an alignment on my 2024 Model Y on July 22, 2025, the car suffered a complete systems failure while driving on the freeway. Within minutes of leaving the service center, multiple safety systems shut down at once — steering assist, emergency braking, lane keeping, stability control, etc... all turned off, and the car went into manual mode. The vehicle became extremely difficult to control at highway speeds, forcing me to steer and brake manually without assist. Because the Service Center was closed that evening, I couldn’t contact anyone, so I drove back first thing the next morning (July 23) to report the issue. I was initially told the next available appointment was two weeks later, but I had to beg to be seen the same day because the car was unsafe to drive. Tesla redid the alignment and told me the car was fine. After reviewing the alignment reports, both the July 22 and July 23 data are mechanically impossible. The reports show rear camber changes from -1.8° / -2.3° to -1.5° / -1.6°, then to -2.0° / -1.8°, even though rear camber on a stock Model Y is not adjustable. This means the alignment equipment or calibration was inaccurate, and therefore the toe settings were also unreliable. The car was almost certainly released with incorrect rear toe, which explains the immediate handling instability and safety system shutdowns. A later independent alignment on October 13, 2025 (America’s Tire, Roseville) confirmed the correct geometry (-1.9° / -2.0°) and proved Tesla’s readings were wrong. Since the faulty alignments, my car developed severe inner-edge tire wear, and I had to replace all four tires prematurely. I was driving in McKinney, TX on [XXX] taking a friend to his destination. FSD (full self driving) was turned on and enabled for this drive. Normally the car is extremely good at noticing its surroundings, including school zones amidst other things. It is getting better all the time with software updates. However, I turned right into a school zone where the car did not notice that there were other cars going to pick up children. The school zone sign looked like it was abnormally above the ground and so there is a possibility FSD didn’t read it. Unfortunately a police officer noticed me and by the time I did the car was going 16 miles over in a 20 mph school zone. No warnings or anything was shown on the screen to indicate that I had come into a school zone, the speed limit was showing at 40 mph and not 20. Car did not indicate to me that I was not paying attention to the road or doing anything dangerous; it was just going with what it perceived to be flow of traffic. The contact owns a 2024 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver’s side seat failed to adjust to the intended position while the digital screen was in use. No warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that when the manual front driver’s side seat control pad was in use, the manual front seat control pad felt fragile and moved the front driver’s side seat forward into the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, and the front driver’s side seat control pad was replaced. The manufacturer was contacted; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 8,790.

When in reverse, the reverse camera disappears if the driver turns the air conditioner on. I was in reverse, pushed the air conditioner button, the camera disappeared and I hit a car behind me. There were also no warning sensors when I got close to the car. It seems to be a safety issue for the reverse camera to ever disappear while in reverse. I’ve had many other cars and while in reverse, you can still turn on the radio or the air conditioner without losing the reverse camera visibility. a child could easily be run over because of this

This vehicle is experiencing vibration at highway speeds. it was reported several times to the dealer without resolve. The upon the 3rd trip to the dealer, they are now saying that somehow all 4 rims are bent. None of the wheels have any visible indication of an impact, scratch or damage to the tires. As the only driver to this vehicle, i know firsthand it has not experienced any impact in way of significant bumps, pothole or otherwise. This is diagnosis is of serious concerns if the vehicles wheels will hold up under normal driving and if it were to experience a bump such as one found on a highway paving ridge during construction would it break or become uncontrollable.

The screen continues to not turn on with my Model Y. This is making it a dangerous situation with backing out of my house and while I’m at the store. Additionally, I can’t tell the speed I’m going or if there are any problems with the car while driving. I’ve gone back to Tesla multiple times and they have not figured out what is going on

When you’re driving even 20 mph if a road is little bumpy the car bombs so much a suspension or shock whatever they have is crap that’s a major issue with Tesla model Y this should be recalled and fixed for all the vehicles. Why did they approve this vehicle when you pay over $50,000 for the vehicle This is a major issue.

Hi, I have 2024 model Y rear wheel drive and wheels are so bumpy. They’re charging over $45,000 for the car. How come you guys approve this vehicle? The suspension is so bad. The car bounced whenever you drive that is big recall to fix this issue when you’re spending $45,000 on a vehicle how did you approve that the car is so bouncy whenever you drive that’s a major major issue with Tesla…….

Finding random screws coming off the vehicle in various compartments. Two screws found laying in glove compartment that came off the assembly holding the inside of the glove box. A hex screw found in rear passenger arm rests storage compartment, after further look up, this screw became lose and fell off the arm rests storage compartment assembly.

I would like to report an incident where Tesla FSD got confused by tire marks on a bridge deck and, soon after, by shadows on pavement. On both occasions, FSD steered the car across the double yellow before returning to its lane. There was no traffic and the car slowed down, so I let it play to see what would happen.
