Dark spots on the road with the LED headlights on low beam. This is very distracting and causes me to focus on the dark spots. Very dangerous when driving on winding roads at night. A lot of deer on and on the side of the rural roads and the dark spots take my focus away.

As I stopped at the stoplight the vehicle enter the automatic shut off pause as it should when the brake is firmly pressed. when I released the brake the engine did not restart. instead the following message showed on the vehicle information center in the dash: ENGINE STOPPED, STEERING POWER LOW. then it prompted me to restart the car. I have to put the car in PARK, depress the brake and press my start button to restart the car. This happen in an intersection! This is the third time and it seems it happens in wet conditions. to temporarily remedy the problem I have deactivated the gas saving automatic engine stop. The manufacturer and dealer have been contacted.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Vehicle horn. It does not sound loud enough to be heard under all conditions by other drivers or pedestrians. Similar vehicles come with two horns: one high frequency and one low frequency. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The described condition certainly can put at risk the driver safety or others. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was reported to the Toyota Dealership. They said that they tested the horn sound, was compared to a known good model, and did not find a difference in the sound intensity or pitch. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, the dealer said that it tested the horn sound and compared it to a known good model. Were th. any warning lamps, mess. or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. When I first took delivery of the vehicle, the horn sounded louder. Below is a copy of the email I sent to Mossy Toyota dealership in San Diego, CA on 11/30/2023: Brian, This morning I left my Green 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross XLE for repair. The roof rack is “attached” to the vehicle with glue. The entire back half of both sides of the roof rack are completly separated from the roof of the vehicle, I can stick my hand under it. I have had them replaced 4 times and they continue to not be adhered. They say there is no solution.

After the first issues with start stop car would just shut off in the middle of driving, came a new issues In august 2024 When all these lights came on car had been park over night and not driven so it was a fresh start . Warning lights included parking brake system, Drive start control, check engine, vehicle stability control and secondary collision brake system. Corolla cross would not back nor move this time . Took to dealership with no findings or solutions. Again September 2024 same warning lights and car had just been driven 8 miles and was in park. These warning lights are very much a safety concern. Have taken to dealership with no resolution or findings

Exiting freeway and decelerating from 65mph speed to come to a stop, the exit veers the to left and slightly uphill. At around the speed of 35 mph the car brake began to actually give resistance and I could feel it actually start applying pressure back onto my foot as if deliberately trying to accelerate. Was unable to get brake to go push down even with applying more force than usual. Very high risk situation with stationary cars and an intersection nearing. Picked up my foot a slammed my brake as hard as possible. The break did finally push through with great force, however mechanical noises from the engine also occurred while breaking hard (honestly thought my transmission was falling out based on the noise) . I almost collided with the car in front of me due to my delayed stop and was at risk of being rear ended due to having a car also immediately behind me that did not appear to anticipate my abrupt stop. I was so shaken by the incident I called my partner immediately because I felt the vehicle was unsafe to drive. I have called the dealership and reported the incident. They asked to bring my car in for evaluation and let me know there is a recall they will assess for. There first available appointment is in 3 days and they are unwilling to provide a loaner car, which is terrifying considering how dangerous the situation is. They didn’t care about this concern

While driving in the rain with my windshield wipers on, my car suddenly stopped and the message on the car said “engine stopping, steering slowly” and after that it said “press on brakes slowly, engine stopping , steering slowly” and then it started to cut off. I forcibly put it in park and then the engine came back on and the car started to drive fine. An hour later, I turned my car back on and started driving and my screen went black. I turned the car off and turned it back on and it started working again. I think it could be an electrical issue but I don’t know for sure. I bought this car used with a little over 30k miles on it.
