Greetings all, This is not my vehicle. It is the vehicle that came to a sudden stop on the [XXX] and I hit. The driver apologized and told me his wife was fiddling with the drive shift lever and accidentally pressed the Park button. Indeed, the 2023 Toyota Tundra driver had been stepping on the brakes (lights on the outside of the flip gate) and switching to reverse (small white lights towards the middle of the bumper) the times I found myself behind it (I had managed to move to the right lane to avoid it a few miles earlier). How does an automatic transmission switch from Drive to Reverse and Park while the vehicle is moving (yes, by then we were going slowly because the driver kept stepping on the brake)? This model does not have mechanical interlocks in the shift lever. It counts on electronic controls. Could it be a burned element in a circuit board? Could it be a defective control card? or a design/programming flaw? Could it have the same parking brake problem that resulted in the recent recall of 870 thousand 2021-2023 Ford F-150s? Could it be something else? Please consider requiring mechanical interlocks for shift levers. Electronics are too sensitive to temperature and humidity and controller failures may become more frequent. Thank you. It has been over 5 months since receiving the recall notice of the 2023 tundra tonneau cover (23TA03). Dealer asked me to wait for a toyota fix multiple times and then did not respond to further requests for answers solutions or a refund for the part that I did not want. Additionally the bed rails had defects and rust that accumulated inside of the rails and is all over my bed liner indicating potential future rusting issues on the best of the truck. I bought it in December of 2022. Rust was apparent after 3 Months. No reply via phone or email or social media from. Toyota. No solutions yet or refunds issued for an obviously defective and dangerous product. Simply fix is refund for tonneau cover and new bed rails.

I fueled my vehicle and once I started my car my fuel gauge remained the same, as if I never put full. I turned off the my vehicle and stared it again. The fuel level still did not change. I went to another pump to see if there was actual fuel from the other pump that went into the vehicle. The other pump stopped right away, signaling I had a full tank. I drove around for 15 minutes but no change to the fuel gauge. I parked the vehicle at home and planned to take it into the dealership the following day, but my fuel gauge corrected it self later displaying a full tank. I’ve seen in the forums this has been a problem. There was no warning lights or CELs upon this problem.

The car auto adaptive cruise control does not use the transmission for downhill breaking. It just rides the brakes coming down now. The car started shaking from overheating the brakes and I said realizing that it just not working in tune with the transmission. This is very dangerous. I have to turn off the cruise control and he manually downshift so break system of start working again. It was shaking so violently wouldn't stop.

I have a 2023 Tundra 1794. From a stop there is a noticeable delay sometimes from the time I press the gas pedal to the time the truck actually starts moving. This has caused me to almost get into two serious accidents because the truck would not go.

The new Tundra most of the features are controlled by the 14-inch Infotainment screen. The screen has gone completely dark and irresponsive to touch, power on/off, and hard reset by the dealership. Given that so many of the truck's safety features are controlled in this system, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership for service and beyond the hard reset (disconnect and reconnect the battery) which they've done, they are unable to diagnose what the problem is or how to fix it.

Truck has a frequent delay/ hesitation accelerating from a stop. Also has a situation where when accelerating from low speed (3-5 mph) the transmission feels as though it’s in a very high gear and is therefore sluggish. Both issues cause potential safety hazards in traffic. Truck also has harsh or jerky shifts in lower gears, (my best guess is gears 1-6 although it’s hard to tell because there is no gear display) which causes drive-ability problems. Local dealer told me my truck has the most up to date transmission programming therefore there is nothing they can do. Issues have been present since new.

I was driving down the freeway at about 70MPH when the sunroof exploded above me. The temperature outside was about 70F in Phoenix. Nothing hit the truck. Chunks of glass rained down in moon roof lining and on the bed of the truck.
