I've had my Volvo for 6 months and two weeks ago I started getting warning alerts that the braking system, lane departure system and other electrical systems were having issues (the doors wouldn't lock and car wouldn't start). I've taken the car to the Volvo dealership 3 times and they have been unsuccessful in determining what the issue is. There is something wrong with the software and a software update that was installed on my car at the first service visit (when this began happening 2 weeks ago).

Since 2021 my car has been burning excessive oil. I have recently discovered that a defect in the pistons of certain Volvo engines, including the one that is in my car, may be the cause for the excessive oil consumption. I am having check and add approximately add 1-2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles on a car that has only 70,000 on the odometer. The defects, according to a recent class action lawsuit may lead to potentially dangerous outcomes. I seek your assistance in getting help with this issue. I have provided all of the details of my concerns in the complaint which is attached.

This Is a volvo semi tractor 2021 the original sunvisor was removed from tractor. And an off brand replacement was installed which is substantially smaller by 4 inches on each side of visor + it's mounted in wrong direction making morning and evening's very difficult due too extremely bright glares from sun even head lights Led signage. It's a danger I don't like ! Bike lanes,people crossing the street, baby strollers etc. It's very unsafe for a semi tractor trailer. I would assume cutting an airline pilots visor would create the same blinding spot. Our shop would not change thee original so they found some little garage that need the business and they changed them. I do not want to be personally liable. I do believe it falls under 393.3. Are other hubs around the country refused to replace the original visors I called them to ask they said it's illegal and they will not remove original visors. I have drove for this company for 35 years no accidents and they suspended me for using a little piece of cardboard I had clipped on the visor to block the sun there is a camera and it was not blocked. This a major liability for me if involved in an accident it's o ly a matter of time before something bad will happen. I do not want to hurt anyone or myself with this dangerous situation. Sunday, May 14, 2023 - 2:30pm Car reports "Brake Failure - Stop Safely" Driver does so, and-- -Parking Brake Sets -Car will not come out of Park -Engine can not be turned off -Rear lift gate cannot be opened by any means First attempt at a tow fails – parking brake locked [XXX] arrives at site at about 6:45 pm. I observe the following: -Car is running, engine cannot be turned off. -Shift lever cannot be moved out of park. -Parking brake cannot be released -Tailgate cannot be opened by any means. -Brake Warning light is on among others. -Brake Pedal has adequate pressure. After attending to parents as this is 4.5 hours at this point of VOC saying help is on the way…. I open the hood and the engine compartment fuse box per a not I found by a credible person on Swedespeed, I pull fuse #38 out and give it 3-4 minutes before replacing it. At which point: -Rear liftgate become operational. -Car will come out of park -Emergency brake releases -ABS error no longer dominates dash screen but other lights remain. The engine oil pressure sensor is not activated in my 2014 volvo s60 software, also combined with what i found out was a known issue of excessive oil. My car engine oil pressure got too low, and there was no warning displayed in the Driver Information Module (DIM). the car started stalling while driving and i almost had a crash. I found out there was a recall on the 2012 volvo S60 but there was none on my 2014 which had the same issue. I have since taking the car to the dealership and not only did i almost lose my life in a crash i was also told the engine was permanently damaged. i have reported the case to volvo they need to expand the years the recall was on and also need to fix my engine which was due to manufacturers defect

The contact owns a 2015 Volvo S60. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under an unknown recall for the catalytic converter and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was told that the catalytic converter had failed due to an oil leak. The contact was informed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle had exceeded the mileage. There was no additional assistance provided. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000. The dealer stated the vehicle is outside of the warranty perimeters by mileage.

Component: Side-view memory mirrors. Available for inspection. After locking car and then unlocking to re-enter the car, side view mirrors do not return to the proper memory position. Need to press the memory button again to set the mirror's proper position. If mirror not in proper position, car on either side of vehicle may not appear in mirror and when changing lanes, could lead to an accident. Car has been brought to dealer once to correct situation but condition still exists. Other than dealer, no other inspections. No warnings or messages. Problem has existed since we got the car in late February of 2023.

While driving, the engine will shut off while stopped and fail to restart when the gas pedal is engaged. The car will not turn on, the steering column and brake pedal lock rendering it completely unresponsive to any attempt to restart the vehicle. It has now happened over six times and Volvo has made two attempts to fix it, but it continuously occurs.

I was involved in an accident with my 2019 Volvo xc40. I believe the cause of the accident was due to the emergency braking system that activated when I hit water that accumulated on the road I was traveling. I was accelerating and the braking caused the vehicle to swerve uncontrollably resulting in some minor body damage to the passenger side as contact was made with some roadside objects. Unfortunately the incident caused over $10,000.00 in front end damages, which is covered by my insurance. This emergency braking i. e. forward collision avoidance automatic emergency braking, has the possibility of causing a more severe accident. I believe a software update was instituted, but the Volvo dealership never mentioned this update when I had my car serviced the past 3 years.

The harness can be loosened by lightly pulling on it without use of the harness release button. The harness is not holding the child in place and the car seat is therefore unsafe for use.
