2011 VOLVO C70- Jackson, MI
Both cabin doors (initially only the passenger door) will pop half-open from a closed position while driving, particularly with the windows and/or roof down. This occurs seemingly at random and regardless of lock position or firmness of door closing. The effect is a startling noise as the door opens slightly, the window retracts, and the cabin lights and door warning alarm engage. This can pose a hazard to safe driving. Neither door has as-of-yet come fully unlatched, remaining instead in a half-latched position until the driver can pull over and close the door fully once more. Lubrication of the latches by a mechanic did not alleviate the issue, and a cursory browsing of Volvo forums suggests that this is a common issue for which no recall or service bulletin has been issued.

2012 VOLVO C70- Webb City, MO
The car developed an electronic communication issue that would cause random failure messages for the ABS, anti-skid system, transmission control and a "brake failure" message that would put the car into limp mode even at highway speeds. If you come to a complete stop, it would not allow you to pull away at any speed which makes you a traffic hazard and at risk for a rear end collision. I took the car to the dealer and they said it was the steering module so I had them replace it which ended up not resolving the problem. More alarming, the mechanic said that the factory original windshield had become unbonded and needed resealed. He showed me by flexing the windshield out at the top. I paid a windshield shop to reseal the windshield but I am reporting this since it's bond to the body is integral to keeping occupants from being ejected in the event of a rollover and the owner is unlikely to ever notice the issue.

Reverse backup camera repeatedly does not work and will display message saying camera unavailable. Sound system will go out with the center screen were no sound comes through (not even blinker sound). With a small child and have concerns driving when these issues occur, especially since they occur unexpectedly. Issues will occur a few days in a row, then work fine for a few days and then issues will occur again. Have been to the shop where they looked at the issue and was advised have to wait for a software update.

2025 VOLVO EX90- Irvine , CA
Vehicle: 2024 Volvo EX90 VIN: [XXX] While driving on the highway, the entire digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen went completely black without warning. I could not see my speed, gear indicator, or use turn signals. This created an immediate and dangerous safety hazard, especially at high speed. The issue has occurred more than once, and despite taking the vehicle to the dealership, it has not been permanently resolved. I have filed a California Lemon Law claim with Volvo, and while Volvo acknowledged the defect and promised a buyback on March 18, 2025, they have failed to follow through or provide a resolution for over two weeks. I am submitting this complaint because the vehicle presents an active safety risk to myself and others, and I am concerned that this defect could result in a serious accident or injury if not addressed immediately. I also have video evidence of the blackout event. I am requesting that NHTSA open an investigation into this issue and hold the manufacturer accountable for failing to address a known safety defect in a timely manner. 2019 VOLVO XC90- Honolulu, HI
There was a leak on the evaporator coil within the AC system for this car. We started having issues with the AC around the 56,500 mile mark ([XXX]). After a couple of rounds of recharging the system with refrigerant and looking for a leak, the repair shop finally found the leak on the evaporator coil system. The repair was quoted cost $4,854.03. The evaporator coil During the summers when the AC was not working, this was definitely a safety concern. Riding in the car with no AC in the summertime in Hawaii is brutal. The $4,854.03 cost for the evaporator coil replacement, did not include the amount of money we spent the first two go arounds looking for the leak and recharging the system with refrigerant. After doing some research and talking to the repair shop the evaporator coil replacement work it seems that this is a very common failure on this model/year Volvo. I also noticed it looks like they already had a similar recall out for this failure on other similar Volvos. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) I would like to have Volvo USA to address this issue and fix this common issue and recall this year model.

When it rains, I receive a warning that the rear position lights are failed. The left tail light stops working and I'm without a signal and brake lamp. This issue resolved its self when it's had time to dry, usually within two to three days.
