BRIDGESTONE TIRES Complaints

235/60/R18 103H These Tires came on my new 2024 Honda CRV (OEM TIRES) and needed to be replaced at 38,000 miles. The tread wear on these 70,000 mile rated premium tire was unacceptable. I did all the recommended rotations, wheel alignments and pressure checks throughout.

My safety has been put at risk using these Bridgestone Ecopia (235/60R/18) tires. They were purchased in 2024 and after a little more than a year and 14,000K miles the front tires are wearing unevenly with little tread left and in need of replacement. There are two (2) known recalls and eight (8) consumer complaints about these tires (see attached). I am seeking reimbursement towards replacement tires I have complained to Honda (where tires were purchased) and the Better Business as well.

Our Audi has 13k miles. We noticed large chunks of rubber pulling away on the treads with pieces large enough to put our finger into. The dealer says they have seen this problem before with this tire

In summary, a business is selling unsafe "sidewall patched" used tire. On Sep 20, 2025 I purchased four used tires for my 2011 Chevy Traverse in this business. Mike's Tires Plano [XXX] ) [XXX] [XXX] Ten days later, one of the tires started to have a slow leak. On Oct 5, 2025, I visited a nearby National Tire & Battery store to have it checked. And was told that the tire is not repairable, since it already had a sidewall patch and the same patch had a leak again. After some research, I found it was illegal to sell and install sidewall patched tires in Texas, since it is unsafe to drive with such tires. (A failed patch on the sidewall dramatically increases the risk of a sudden and catastrophic tire blowout, Most professional tire shops will refuse to repair sidewall damage because of the significant safety risk and liability involved) A common criterion for an unsafe used tire is one that "has a repair to the tire in the tread shoulder, sidewall, bead area or belt edge area." On Oct 6, 2025, I went to the tire shop to ask for a refund or to replace other safer used tires. But the owner refused to do any, and even refused to admit that his tire is a sidewall patched tire, saying it is safe to use and legal to sell. I am writing this letter to complain that this business unlawful and unethical practice puts people's lives in danger. Tire size 235/40R19 Vehicle hydroplanes in light rain on all roads even at low speeds on AWD vehicle. Several instances where the vehicle hydroplanes and has steered the car into oncoming traffic or off the road. Tires have been inspected by Toyota and Discount Tire. Both state tires pass inspection. Bridgestone was contacted and states nothing can be done. Upon searching that specific tire, reviews state Many others are having the same issues calling the tire extremely unsafe. Tires have had issues since buying the car new and continue to have problems with currently only 14k miles.

235/65/R17 Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus Right Passenger Tire Saturday, [XXX] approx [XXX] with 6 people (4 were children in carseats) in the vehicle traveling North on [XXX] between exits [XXX] and [XXX] in Middle Lane. Traveling at a speed of 65mph. Driver pulled over safely to shoulder because the 2013 Honda Odyssey Minivan made a loud flapping sound on right rear of vehicle. Driver got out to check and returned to car saying tire had a blowout. With hazard lights flashing driving in slow lane we exited freeway and pulled into the Safeway parking lot to access the damage. A large strip of tire on the inside was hanging off the tire as the tread had separated from the main part of the tire. Driver changed the tire to the donut. Damaged tire was placed in a bag in the rear well of the trunk. Photos were taken of faulty damaged tire. The tire had peeled an inner section of tread off the tire with no warning. America's Tire Rep in Turlock, CA today; August 25, 2025 stated the damaged tire should have blown completely causing more damage and possible injuries. The contact owns a 2024 Audi Q4 equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Alenza, Tire Size: 255/45/R20, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that while her friend was driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Tire Pressure Lost" was displayed. The friend pulled into a parking lot to inspect the vehicle and noticed a blowout with one of the tires. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact stated her friend waited for towing assistance. The contact stated that all four tires were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 114,630. The VIN was invalid.

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Prius equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Ecopia, Tire Size: 195/60/R17, DOT Number: 1ELUK0DDB. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 - 10 MPH in a parking lot, a piece of metal slashed the passenger’s side front tire. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to use the tire puncture repair kit to repair the tire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to repair the tire. The mechanic determined that the tire and wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a refund. The tire was mailed to the manufacturer. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was unknown.

235/50/20 104T MFD: 0223 & 5022 (both on the front) Driven less than 15,000 miles so far. Started having this issue around 10k miles. Will have to swap soon before a major accident occurs due to tire failure and checking almost all the boxes that are below. I have no words to describe and neither does the firestone employee. I am attaching pictures. Chunks of tread are coming off from all around the tire. Inside, outside, 360 degree. In the picture you'll see how much tread there is and see how deep the chunks are. This is a major safety issue. I have 2 other tires same model but from 2024 MFD without issue. My 2025 Honda Pilot Black Edition came with these Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S tires. They tramline horrendously on grooved concrete roads (most interstates where I live) to the point of being extremely dangerous. The vehicle jerks side to side to where it is throwing the vehicle off balance at highway speeds and this also causes nausea for the driver and passengers. The tires have exhibited this behavior since the vehicle was brand new and a quick google search turned up numerous reports of others experiencing the same tramlining behavior.
