Goodyear Fortera HL, M&S 265 / 50R 20, tread separated from driver side rear tire, [XXX] at 11:15am, while driving speed limit on [XXX] . The tire was not flat (see photos), but the tread was completely gone and I was riding on steel belts. Extensive damage was done to the left rear quarter of the vehicle, and underneath the wheel well. Estimate over $3,500.00. I also had to replace two rear tires, over $500.00. This incident happened while I was out of state and on vacation. When I returned to my home in Florida, I called Goodyear Property Damage group, but they said that they could do nothing to help me without getting the damaged tire back to the company. Unfortunately, Mavis Tire in Matthews, NC disposed of the tire. I offered to send Goodyear photos of the damaged tire and vehicle, but they refused because they said that they needed the tire. No warning lamps, messages or symptoms occurred prior to the incident. AAA, Mavis tire, Classic Collision Ocala and insurance representatives have inspected the vehicle damage. Three of four original Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT tires (DOT 0222) on my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 have experienced catastrophic tread separations under normal use with 28,095 miles. The first two failed under warranty and were replaced at my expense; the third failed at highway speed, causing vehicle damage and a $1,000 insurance deductible plus additional cost to replace the tire. The dealership advised GM sent the failed tires for analysis, but GM denies receiving or reviewing them. Multiple NHTSA complaints describe identical failures on this same tire model (e.g., #11522434, #11482843, #11457647). This pattern indicates a potential widespread safety defect.

These tires are good year wrangler trail runner at size lt275/65 r20. My total mileage on these tires was 40970These were the original tires that were installed when the truck was purchased new. My tires are rotated every 5000 miles. Tire pressure is maintained at the exact pressure. I was driving on an interstate at 70 mph. A vibration started. I checked the tire pressure monitors and all showed normal pressures - I stopped and observed the tires were no longer round but had bulges to one side of the tread surface Both are likely to blowout and have to be replaced Two did this same thing in last 2 weeks

The contact owns a 2022 Peterbilt 389 equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Marathon LHS, Tire Size: 11R22.5, DOT Number: 1MY3TTYBW0324. The tires had been replaced prior to the failure. While driving, the driver's side front tires had a blowout. The local dealer was contacted, where it was diagnosed that the tread had separated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and declined the claim. The manufacturer stated that the tires were either underinflated or overinflated. The tires were sent for X-ray. The contact stated that the vehicle carried propane fuel, and the air pressure was set at 110. The tire failure mileage was 37,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 439 087.

Last June I noticed the car constantly shaking. Took it to Goodyear plaza tire in Alexandria mn and they said they didn't find anything wrong and it's normal to have tires feel like they are shaking while driving. The tires are 255/45R19 Then in July of 2025, I wanted a tire rotation and wheels balanced. The mechanic says they can't because the tread is almost gone and I'd have 5000 left before I could get new tires. About 2000 miles later I noticed the tread separating from the wires on 3 of the 4 tires. They have been kept properly inflated and rotated every 5000 to 6000 miles. Usually every other oil change. Again I was told it's normal since the tires mostly last 30,000 miles and is rated for 40,000. I don't think it's right.

tread separation on brand new steer tires, this truck and another with 11000.00$ damage. the tires are a goodyear marathon lhs 11r/22.5. all tires failed built in cali columbia. sent tire to goodyear and they rejected claim twice. independent dealers plural all confirm tread separation due to manufacture defect. they day saturday night sept 20 this tire failed exactly the same way as on peterbilt. have pics of all failures dot numbers and as i said the tire that are failing all have same dot number made in columbia, goodyear rejects all defects.

The tires were installed on 8.22.2025 and on the following Thursday, August 28, 2025, all of the tires had low pressure. I returned to the Orange City, FL Tire Kingdom per the managers' (Brittany) request and the mechanic filled all of the tires and said that they were not completely filled when they were installed. The following day, Friday, 8/29, I began my return trip to my home in North Carolina. Within a few hours, the driver’s side front tire exploded and my truck was on the rim of the tire, swerving into the adjacent lane on I-95. I was able to get the truck off of the highway, onto the nearest exit ramp without being hit. I have never been that close to being killed on the interstate. [XXX] came and put the spare on and while I was waiting along the highway I called Tire Kingdom and was advised by [XXX] at the Orange City store to take the truck to the nearest Mavis or Tire Kingdom. The nearest one was Mavis in Brunswick, Ga, about 30 minutes north of the incident. The Brunswick store was closing and I was advised to bring my truck in at 8:00 am. I stayed at a hotel nearby and had the truck there at 7:45 am. I was told that they did not have four replacement tires in stock and could probably have them by Tuesday as it was Labor Day Weekend. They stated that they could replace only the blown tire and “take a look” at the other three tires. There was absolutely no concern for my safety or welfare, and no appreciation of the amount of risk I would be undertaking to continue to drive on the other tires. I went to Firestone and replaced all of the tires and returned home safely. I contacted Tire Kingdom three more times and was advised to return the tires to the Asheville, NC Mavis Tire store for evaluation. The manager, [XXX] and a mechanic inspected all of the tires and immediately stated that all of them were defective.The belt had separated, the sidewall was weak, and the rim/beading was bent. With 33k miles on the original tires on my 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD. Driver's side rear ire self destructed going down the highway at 70mph. Was not towing at the time. LT275/65R20 126/123S E @ 80psi

The contact owns a 2023 Kenworth T680 equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Endurance, Tire Size: 297/75/R22.5, DOT Number: 1MC37L1BW0624. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle, and afterwards, the contact felt heavy vibrations coming from the steering wheel. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the front passenger’s side tire casing had separated from the tread. The tires were taken to an independent mechanic, who failed to provide a diagnosis. The tire was replaced by Roadside Assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was 362,000, and the tire failure mileage was 50,000.

The contact filed the complaint on behalf of a fleet driver. The contact owns a 2024 Peterbilt Conventional 579, equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Endurance LHS, Tire Size: 295/75/R22.5, DOT Number:1MC37C8BW3223. The contact stated that while the fleet driver was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal flapping sound coming from the tires. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was shaking and vibrating abnormally. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The driver inspected the vehicle and noticed that the front passenger's side tire was cracked, and the outer tire tread had detached. The TA Truck Stop Service was contacted, and the tire was replaced. The Goodyear dealer where the tires were purchased was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 276,000. The tire failure mileage was 40,004.
