ALFA ROMEO Complaints

The engine cooling hose is failing and may be made of similar materials under the same recall as the Stelvio Qudrofiligo NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 18V635000. Mine has a leak which can cause a loss of coolant and cause a crash. The engine cooling hose may have inadequate webbing material allowing a coolant leak.

The contact owns a 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V510000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Vehicle was issued with the incorrect tire pressure information on the vehicle information sticker. It was recalled by Alfa Romeo as the sticker read the required tire pressure was 35PSI. The new sticker reflects an updated tire pressure of 39 PSI for the rear tires. The low tire pressure caused the rear tires to wear our prematurely and they are now in need of replacement.

The contact owned a 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stopped in a turning lane, another vehicle from behind struck the front and rear driver's sides. The air bags did not deploy. The contact experienced back pain, dizziness, headache, and panic attacks. The contact received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and then to the dealer, where it was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V510000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

A recall was issued for a disrupted connector on the front buckle switch hall effect sensor that may cause the air bag to not deploy during a crash. This seems to be an important safety concern. However all dealers in my area (Los Angeles) either do not have the part(s) to repair the issue and do not have a timeline on when the part will be available, or have a waiting list of >7 months due to taking only 5 recall cars per week. Both scenarios seems unacceptable, particularly when the recall is related to a safety concern, and fall under the category " dealer fails to remedy the defect within a reasonable time". I trust something should be done with the manufaturer to get more parts to all dealerships, and to force dealers to fix more than 5 cars per week.

The contact called another local dealer Alfa Romeo Stuart (3980 SE Federal Hwy, Stuart, FL 34997); but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer opened a case. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

After a 3 hour drive I had parked curb-side on a busy street to go into a store. I returned within 10 minutes, started the car, and as I was pulling out into traffic the car stalled after moving about 20 feet. All the dash lights came on and it would crank but not start. The car is in the right lane of a busy 3 lane road at this time. Also, after it stopped rolling it put itself in PARK, and because it has electronic transmission selection, I could not get it into Neutral to push it out of the way without the engine running. . The situation was very perilous. A wrecker came and got the car home. Once home I pulled the OBD codes myself and found P0087 Low Fuel Pressure and P008A also Low Fuel Pressure. After researching I have found that this is a known defect in these cars going on several years now. What is the delay in requiring Alfa to issue a recall of these faulty fuel pumps and fuel modules? Had this pump failure happened on an interstate at highway speeds it could have been fatal.

The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH and attempting to accelerate, the accelerator pedal travelled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle stalled. The ESC warning light, the check engine warning light, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the message “Service Engine Soon" and other unknown messages were displayed. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, and the contact drove to the residence. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V510000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the repair could not be covered because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Vehicle has 23862 thousands miles while I was driving on [XXX] from keys to Miami Cara starts to lose power shut off in the middle of the road and kept me stock there for few Hours until was able to get the car home ind meter tells me it low pressure fuel line in few words looking and asking to mechanics it’s the fuel pump and module to be replaced this was one freighter moment INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While in drive at speed the car would stall and all warning lights would indicate errors such as service engine, auto stop start fault, electronic throttle control, among others. The car could not be put into neutral, and would not restart for several minutes ( 30 minutes). This problem had occured previously (three times before).
