2022 AUDI Q5- Tempe, AZ
The charging cable and outlet the charging cable was plugged into caught on fire about 1 year ago. I had to replace the wiring and outlet and purchase a new cable which is now an open recall and apparantly still defective.

2022 AUDI E-TRON SPORTBACK- Lincolnwood, IL
The battery malfunctioned and discharged rapidly while it was being shipped in a covered tow truck overnight (moving). The manual resets do not work, and it is very difficult to tow. The battery charge port manual release does not work as advertised in the instruction manual. Directions and labeling are not clear on the manual release. The car completely shuts down and cannot even move it into manual mode to push it. Have made numerous service appointments as it can lose 20-30% charge without even driving. The estimates for mileage are wrong too. The car is advertised as 220. After having driven the car about 12,000 miles, the true range is 180 at best on a full charge.

2023 AUDI Q5- Coppell, TX
This is in line with the 2023 Audi Q5 (VIN: [XXX] with only 4k miles on the odometer), which has several system malfunctioning errors that populate periodically. The same error occurred while running on the first day I collected this Audi Q5 from Audi Dallas showroom on [XXX]. This error was permanent and appeared every time i started the vehicle. As suggested by the Audi Dallas service department, I returned the car for review on the same day i bought it. After nearly two weeks, the car was returned to me, and it was highlighted that there could be a glitch in the software. So that the reset will sort out the issue. However, on [XXX] ( 5350 miles on the odometer), the same error populated and persisted. I arranged a drop-off with Audi Dallas at around 2 pm, [XXX], and the car was fixed and returned after two weeks. On [XXX], the same warning error for airbags appeared for the third time in 2 months (Odometer reading 6245 miles) and I am still waiting for a response from Audi. I am a bit concerned about this, as it could be a physical issue than a software issue. 2015 AUDI Q5- Litchfield, CT
I was driving down the road when the steering stop working and I could not control the direction that the tires moved. The direction of steering would not respond to my movements and I was unable to control the car. I was able to break and bring the car to a stop, however, if I were moving at a much faster speed this would have been extremely dangerous. I brought the car to our mechanic and we were informed that the tie rods were broken, the threading on the attachment pieces was completely rusted out and the threads were bare. The piece simply came apart and was malfunctioning. No warning signs or service lights came on in the vehicle before this happened and we had no indication that there would be an issue with the steering when operating the vehicle. Our mechanic told us this was one of the most dangerous things he's ever seen happen in a car and that our life was at risk. We regularly have our car inspected and serviced and there was no indication that this would happen. Our car had a major engine problem in August 2023 and was at the Valenti Audi Dealership in Waterbury, CT, during that time the car was inspected and we were not told the tie-rods had any problems.

2019 AUDI E-TRON- Saint Charles, MO
The charging system used to charge the vehicle cannot be used at full capacity otherwise it can cause a fire. Potential house fire, wiring damage to home. This problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer. The components have not been inspected because Audi does not have a remedy for this recall. There are no warnings on the vehicle. Lights flicker in the home when charging.

2019 AUDI A6- Lebanon, OH
The car gave me electrical malfunction warning while driving on the highway, then all the screens turned black, and the car completely shut down while driving. The steering was still working, although heavier than usual, and the breaking also worked. The car slow down to a complete stop at the shoulder of the highway. This was very concerning, and thankfully happened close on exit with a shoulder at the side in which I was able to park the car.

2018 AUDI Q7- Harvard, MA
We have had major problems with our 2018 Audi Q7 that are consistent with allegations made in various lawsuits against Audi and Volkswagen Group of America for alleged defects with Audi piston rings and piston ring assemblies. The defects have purportedly caused excessive oil consumption, engine damage, and engine failure. As noted in one such lawsuit (that apparently settled), the engine failure caused by the defective Audi piston ring and piston assemblies could result in sudden loss of power to the engine. “It goes without saying that a sudden loss of power poses a clear-cut safety risk—it can prevent the driver from accelerating, maintaining speed, and even adequately controlling the steering wheel, engaging the brakes, all of which drastically increase the risk of collisions …” [XXX] v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. {XXX]) The problem with our Audi is consistent with the reports by plaintiffs in these lawsuits, as well as other Audi owners—including Q7s—who have shared their experiences online. Starting at around 60,000 miles, our vehicle increasingly consumed oil until eventually, we needed to add a quart of oil less than every 600 miles. And that’s despite our: 1) having followed all of the required oil change and other related maintenance standards published by Audi; and 2) having replaced the car’s CCV valve and PCV breather, which we were told sometimes corrects the problem. Most recently, in December 2023, I was driving with my children in the vehicle, and the engine started sputtering and laboring. Then the check engine light appeared. I was able to drive the car home but have been advised that, in order to make the car drivable, we’d have to replace the engine. Obviously, even if we have the engine replaced, the rebuilt Audi engine could have the same problems. Given the risk that the affected Audi engines will fail in vehicles traveling at high speeds on U.S. highways, the NHTSA should investigate this matter immediately. 2018 AUDI A4- Wadsworth, OH
I was rear-ended at a slow speed. I was stopped at the time. The driver who hit me was decelerating hard. Damaged to rear bumper. When I got back in the car, I realized that telescoping steering column had been pulled toward me. This would have been bad had I been shoved into the car in front of me and the airbags deployed too close to me. Luckily, this did not happen.
