Driving vehicle at a low/medium rate of speed, and car completely shut off without warning. Check engine light appeared after restarting the vehicle. This is the second time this has happened to me since November 2022. I filed a report then as well. This car should not be allowed on the road and Audi should be forced to buy it back. The vehicle has less than 35,000 miles. Dealer has not confirmed what the issue is this time.

The contact owns a 2016 Audi A3. The contact stated while driving at slow speeds and making a U-turn, the "Steering Defect; Do Not Drive" message was displayed. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The steering wheel turned in the other direction when the vehicle struck the curb. While making a left turn, the steering wheel pulled hard to the right. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 147,000.

While driving the alternator failed. The battery also failed. Multiple instances at the dealer trying to repair.

I have an Audi Q7. Yesterday you could smell gas in the car and my 6 year old said he had a headache. I got in the car today and did not smell gas. Due to safety concerns, I immediately bought took the car to Dandini's in Westerville, Ohio. This autoshop only services Audi and VWs and their repair staff is certified in Audi and has worked at Audi dealerships. When I got to the dealership the inside of the car had a strong odor of gasoline. When we went back to the car 10 minutes later it still had a strong odor of gasoline when you opened the door. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a fuel filter issue. He said it was under a recall. The recall number is 16V-660 and may have been expanded. He called Audi and Audi said they could either replace the faulty fuel filter or put a patch on the faulty part. On my vehicle, they performed the recall by putting a patch on the fuel filter. They said they had no responsibility to replace the fuel filter - even though the patch failed - as they put a patch on it. That patch failed. I called Audi customer service and informed them the vehicle was unsafe to drive and they pushed me to go to a dealer and would not confirm if they would replace the part noting that there was not an active recall. Again, Audi said they would not do anything further on the recall since they put the patch on the filter even though the patch failed. The patch is sticky and melting and the failure could be due to heat or not being able to last long. See picture showing the patch failing. I replaced the fuel filter and the issue was resolved. It cost $577.98 to fix this issue. Audi refuses to reimburse I am emailing because there is a potential issue with the recall fix on the fuel filter issue on the Audi Q7. My patch failed. I was lucky that no one was injured due to the failure. You may want to review the issue on other recall repairs that did patches and not replacements. I have the part if you would like to review it.

Car started by saying auto start /stop function malfunction, than Electrical Malfunction. after reading an Audi forum on Audi World there is thousand of customers complaining of the same issue. apparently its a known issue with their 48v mild hybrid system and their alternator. multiple dealerships blaming a faulty alternator. this issue has left people stranded and myself the vehicle A/C system stopped working and now parked at home until I can take to dealership. this issue is not a small one or impacting a small amount of consumers and more investigating should be done by your agency to be a Recall on this. The contact owns a 2023 Audi Q5. The contact stated that after opening the trunk door and reaching into the trunk, the trunk door inadvertently released, and the door struck the contact on the neck. No medical attention was sought. The contact stated that the trunk door was difficult to manually raise up. The contact heard a beeping sounding and was able to get out of the way before the trunk closed independently. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was not contacted. The failure mileage was 1,820.

SUV has major blind spot on side view mirrors. Also, consume excessive amounts of engine oil. Audi needs to include the Q5 2016 year in a class action lawsuit. OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!

My sunroof exploded on the expressway and caused the glass to shatter both inside the vehicle sunroof vent and the exterior sunroof

Passenger backup light failure. Taken to dealer and they recommended replacing part TSB 2063766/2. Yes I will supply this part if requested. No backup light is a safety hazard. Yes the vehicle was inspected by the dealer. They gave a parts and labor estimate of $805. Yes there was a warning message in the dashboard for this malfunction. This is a “common failure” in Audi Q5 automobiles to the point where the replacement part is on back order.

While driving on the highway my sunroof glass detached from the frame and flipped over to the back. It was still being held by about 5in of glue on the rear part of the frame and luckily it didn't depart the car which would have caused damage to cars behind me. This issue seems the same as NHTSA Recall No. / MFR Recall No. : 16V-415 / 60C3, however my VIN is not part of it. I'm reporting this because there might be other cars out there affected by this recall, which is a road hazard to other people and vehicles that are traveling behind this car.
