The contact owns a 2022 Audi E-Tron. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle independently switched to SAFE Mode and failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the mileage range was reduced, and the battery recharging time increased. The failure started after the vehicle was repaired under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V867000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but no failure was found with the vehicle. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who reported that the amperage of the battery had been reduced from 400 amps to 130 amps. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 16,000.

Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Summary: The turbocharger on my 2019 Audi Q5 failed prematurely. The initial check engine light and loss of performance began at approximately 48,000 miles, which is within Audi’s 4-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty. The condition progressively worsened and the vehicle became difficult to drive safely in traffic due to reduced power and hesitation during acceleration. The turbocharger ultimately required complete replacement at 50,334 miles at a cost of $ 2511.20 This appears to be a premature failure of a major engine component. A sudden loss of power while merging or crossing intersections creates a safety concern. The vehicle has been properly maintained, is completely stock, and has never been modified. No warning was provided prior to the check engine light and rapid performance degradation. I am submitting this complaint because similar turbocharger wastegate failures have been documented in other Volkswagen/Audi vehicles using related engines, and a failure at this mileage should not occur in a properly maintained vehicle. Safety Risk: Reduced engine power and hesitation during acceleration creates a hazardous condition when merging into traffic or crossing intersections. 21 Dec 2025 11,743 miles Audi Pre-sense slammed on the brakes while waiting to make a left. Pointing downhill slightly. No cars in the way. Turned it off completely. Was on the the Late setting. Will not stay off.

I was driving vehicle and heard a loud sound like an explosion. I looked up and there was a big hole in my sunroof. The sunroof exploded. Yes you can look at it. It proceeded to crack and glass flew everywhere. Danger was that glass flew everywhere, got in my hair and could have been way worse. It is very dangerous and lucky I didn’t wreck. I have no idea was this is not deemed bad enough for recall. Audi has the vehicle and the case has been turned over to their corporate engineering department. They are going to determine if they will fix it which I know from reading this is a recurring issue. There were no warnings. Insurance knows but Audi is responsible.

I periodically receive warnings for adaptive light malfunctions, headlight assistant malfunctions, active lane assist malfunctions, traffic sign recognition malfunctions, adaptive cruise assist malfunctions, and high beam assist malfunctions. The Audi dealer confirmed these issues and stated a solution is being worked on but currently not available since it appears to be a software issue. These warnings first appeared within the first 250 miles and has continued to periodically appear. These issues are available for inspection. The malfunctions jeopardize the safety measures which are standard on the car.

I am reporting a manufacturing defect involving the dashboard on my 2022 Audi A6. The dashboard has begun bubbling and warping, particularly near the area close to the windshield. This defect appears to be common among Prestige-trim Audi A6 vehicles, as other owners have reported similar dashboard warping. The warping causes the dashboard material to rise upward, which reflects additional glare and partially obstructs visibility through the lower portion of the windshield, especially in certain lighting conditions. This reduces my ability to clearly see hazards low on the road ahead, creating a potential safety risk. Additional Details: - The vehicle has not been modified. -The issue has progressively worsened over time. - The defect appears to affect normal forward visibility and could distract the driver. Audi has not issued a recall for this known problem, despite multiple similar complaints from other owners (Effected Models per online research: ETron, R8, A6, A7, A8, Q7, Q8). I am asking NHTSA to investigate this dashboard defect as a potential manufacturing defect and safety hazard due to obstructed visibility and distracted driving caused by glare/reflection from the warped dashboard surface.

While driving at highway speeds, a warning light appeared as well as an alert indicating the car was limited to no more than 4000rpm. After coming to a stop, a strong smell of gasoline was noticed in the passenger compartment. Continued driving home uneventfully but the strong smell of gas persisted. The next day I drove the car to a mechanic. Their inspection notes the following: The technician verified the customer concern of a fuel smell. He performed a fault scan, finding codes for low fuel pressure. He inspected the vehicle, finding a major fuel leak under the intake manifold, most likely from a cracked fuel rail. The system is supposed to operate at 125 bar of fuel pressure, but is currently at 9-11 bar. The high pressure fuel pump is operating at 100% duty cycle, which means it has overheated and been damaged. Metal shavings from the fuel pump then ends up inside of the injectors, ruining them. The low pressure fuel pump may be ok, but it is unclear at this time. **RECOMMEND REPLACING FUEL RAIL, HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, INJECTORS WITH SEALS, AND PRESSURE SENSOR **MAY NEED LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP They also noted that the leaking fuel could cause a fire hazard. The fact that this fuel leak happened at only 98,750 miles and that the car continued to be drivable with fuel spraying all over the engine compartment is extremely concerning.

Yellow warning light..drive system malfunction. Red warning light..low oil pressure at idle. Says stop engine..after engine restart lights go off and is fine.. for a little bit.

Unable to refuel car. Gas pump keeps clicking off and fuel backs up spilling out of fuel port. Mechanic tested fuel system and reported fuel tank has faulty jet pump seal. Mechanic says a recall was effected for certain audi models with this issue due emissions dangers and fire risk.
