My [XXX] was sleeping in the parked car. My wife was also in the car with her. Engine and AC were on. The key was inside. Doors and trunk were unlocked. I got outside the car and got my older kid. The doors opened as usual. Then my wife stepped outside the car to get something from the trunk, and she closed her door as well to avoid heat coming in. The vehicle immediately auto locked the doors with the key inside it. So my little one got locked inside. The doors or the trunk did not open again. There was no cell reception, so no way to get roadside help or call 911. The car was parked under direct sun in hot weather. It then shut off the engine (and AC) as well. To avoid heat stroke, we broke into the car to save the child. Obviously damaged the vehicle in the process. The problem of doors/trunk locking with the key inside happened a second time the next day. This time engine was off. I was already inside. My door was open. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine lost power and needs to be replaced. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was driving on the I35 at 75 mph when I had catastrophic engine failure. It caused high potential for myself to be rear-ended or a pile up. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? My local dealer confirmed this is a known issue for 6.2l LS motors. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Unknown Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no other signs immediately prior to the failure. Two weeks before the failure, I took the vehicle back to the dealer because of the oil use and the low oil engine light.

[XXX] driving down [XXX] in Delaware at 68mph, with no prior warning my Cadillac Escalade had a total power loss and shifted into neutral in the center lane of a 4 lane highway nearing causing a collision that could of took my life as well as my 3 children. We were stuck in the center lane of a dangerous highway for 2 hours. The dealership (Delaware Cadillac) has notified me that at 36,000 the entire engine has failed with no prior warning or issues. And is going to require a complete engine replacement. This is extremely dangerous. I also own two other Cadillac Escalade models and scared the same thing is going to occur. No lamps were illuminated, there was no driving issues or concerns prior to this happening. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My wife was driving this vehicle home after dropping off kids at school when the engine suddenly stalled in the middle of the road. Luckily no one was directly behind her or she would have been in a collision. After being towed to the dealership, they informed us the engine "failed". There was no check engine light or warning message prior to the engine suffering sudden and catastrophic failure. Vehicle has less than 28k miles. The car is currently at the dealer with no time frame for repair because the engine is on "back-order".

My wife was driving the vehicle on the interstate up a hill with our [XXX] daughter when the engine seized without warning. A light came on and said the engine was hot and the accelerator pedal gave no response, and the vehicle shifted itself into neutral. She was able to barely get the vehicle off of the highway and call for help. we had the vehicle towed to the local dealer where she was which is five hours from our home to be told it needs an engine without any timeline whatsoever. The contact owns a 2023 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, the instrument panel lights started blinking, and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound before shutting off. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over onto the median. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with excessive oil consumption, causing engine failure. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided rental vehicle assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

After spending 3 months in Palm Desert CA, we were heading home to Colorado on Saturday [XXX]. Just a few miles east of Barstow CA, traveling about 70 mph on [XXX], our Escalade just died and shifted itself into neutral. Luckily we were able to guide the car on to the shoulder area. The experience was terrifying as we sat there for 4 hours……… speaking several times with both OnStar and Cadillac Roadside Assistance. A tow truck driver FINALLY arrived about 1:00 PM and took us and our Escalade to Victorville Cadillac where we arrived around 2:00 PM. Because it was Saturday afternoon, they would not be able to look at the car until Monday. We met with the General Manager, who provided us with a loaner car. The car was fully packed with our belongings and we were assured that the car would be secured on their lot. On Monday [XXX] at 11:05 AM, Jon Adams from the service department called Fred to say that the engine was blown and there were fragments in the oil pan. We headed to the dealership where we were for the next 4 hours. We were told that it could take several weeks for them to get a new engine delivered. We were over 900 miles from home and really had no other option than to buy another car from them. Of course, we had NO intention of trading in the Escalade as it we only had it for 1 year and 8 months AND only with 10,245 miles!! We were two mentally exhausted [XXX] who just wanted to get home!! The GM assured us that he would give us the full trade-in value of the Cadillac as if there we no engine issues. So, we purchased a 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country in the amount of 91K. They gave us a trade price price of $81,550 for the Cadillac (we paid $110,775 on [XXX]) After spending 3 nights in Victorville, we headed home on 4/16/24. On 4/22/24 we requested a copy of the work order to submit to Cadillac only to find out that our Cadillac had already been repaired on 4/19 and on their lot for sale on 4/22 for $109,651! When driving at 60 miles an hour in the interstate the engine stopped and the shift moved to N. The car was on, message on the screen “please start” and I could manage the car to go to the side of the road until complete stop. The car was towed to a Cadillac dealer and the engine had to be replaced. Very scary situation and than God nothing happened. GM offered to extend the engine warranty but would not provide a good explanation or confirm the issue was fixed and wont happen again.

I called dealer and told them that the suv was making a ticking sound and played them a recording of it. They told me that i could drive it in or call an 800 number and maybe get it towed. I decided to drive it in as towing it would prob take it to a dealer i did not know. There were no lights on indicating an issue. I was stopped waiting to turn left across traffic when the engine started making all kinds of clanging noise. At this point it quit and after a few attempts i got it restarted and towed it in to dealer the engine failure with out warning left me and my family in jeopardy in the roadway. Now i learn that lots of these 6.2 v8s are blowing up as my dealer alone has several of them out back waiting with no eta on repair parts coming. So not only were we put in pearl but i have 125k in a brick setting at the dealer. And givin a smaller auto that i can not pull trailers with. I feel endangered and ripped off pleasse help.
