2024 CADILLAC XT4- Lake Wales, FL
I was driving down the road and my vehicle lost power and quit running. Luckily I was in the lane closest to the shoulder and was able to pull over on the shoulder and was not able to restart my vehicle, but had this happened in another location this could have been a huge safety problem for me and others with the vehicle completely losing power while driving in the middle of traffic on highway 27. The vehicle is still under warranty and has 10k miles. I am the only owner of the vehicle and it has only been serviced at the Cadillac dealer. The Cadillac dealer was able to inspect my vehicle and determined that the fuel pump module went bad and replaced it and advised that this has happened to other Cadillac, GMC, and Chevrolet suvs.

The contact owns a 2026 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the engine compartment. Later, while driving approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated unexpectedly in the middle of highway traffic. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was coasted off the road and parked in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,099.

2025 CADILLAC XT4- Fort Lauderdale, FL
Vehicle Safety Complaint I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2025 Cadillac XT4 because of a serious transmission failure that created a significant safety hazard. While driving on the interstate at approximately 60 mph, the transmission suddenly malfunctioned and the vehicle lost its ability to operate normally. The transmission appeared to disengage unexpectedly, causing a sudden loss of power and creating a dangerous situation in fast-moving traffic. I was concerned that my vehicle could have been struck by other vehicles because it was no longer responding as expected. The vehicle had to be towed to an authorized Cadillac dealership for inspection and repair. After diagnosing the problem, the dealership informed me that the entire transmission required replacement. This is a major component failure on a nearly new vehicle with relatively low mileage. A complete transmission replacement on a new vehicle, combined with a sudden failure at highway speed, raises serious concerns about the safety and reliability of this model. A transmission should not fail unexpectedly under normal driving conditions, especially in a new vehicle. (They changed gearbox in 14 days) I am reporting this incident because I believe it represents a potential safety defect that could place other drivers and passengers at risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether similar transmission failures have been reported in the 2025 Cadillac XT4 and determine whether this issue warrants further investigation or a safety recall. In addition to the highway transmission failure, I have experienced another serious safety concern. When shifting the vehicle from Park into Drive or Reverse, the transmission sometimes does not engage immediately. Instead, there is a delay of several seconds, followed by a sudden and unexpected engagement that causes the vehicle to lunge forward or backward. This sudden movement is completely outside of my control and creates a significant safety risk.

2020 CADILLAC CT4- Apollo Beach, FL
I had two incidents with the Cadillac CT-4 in February and then again in April of 2026 of driving on I-75 at a highway speed of about 70 MPH when the vehicle suddenly downshifted and the engine revving at at very high RPM. The vehicle slowed down suddenly and it felt for a moment that I could not control the speed. The check engine light was on and the diagnostic indicated a transmission/engineer problem and to take in to service within a day. Both incidents in February and April felt the same. Both times I pulled over to the shoulder to shut the engine. I waited and in February it restarted without the engineer revving high. In April, it still revved high. When I took it to Ed Morse Cadillac in [XXX] in February 28, they indicated that it was a water pump failure and they replaced the water pump. I expressed that it was odd that a water pump could affect the vehicle engineer/transmission like it did when engine overheating is usually a warning of a water pump problem. The Odometer was at 73000 just over the 70000 warranty and Cadillac HQ agreed to pay for the repair. However, I continued to have the transmission problem or check engine light problem. I took it back several more times for the check engine light and even paid for a diagnostic. Ultimately, I had the same sudden downshift high engine rev on May 6th and brought it to the Brandon Cadillac again. This time they gave me a loaner and kept the car for a week and told me it was the transmission and that the core component would need to be replaced. The bill was for $4,449.83 for the repair on May 20, 2026. This time Cadillac HQ would not cover the repair even though there were other Cadiilacs with similar transmission issues. The Caddillac HQ Case Number is #XXX INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

However, after contacting the manufacturer, the contact was informed the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was referred to a local dealer for potential assistance from Goodwill. The failure mileage was approximately 192,000.

2026 CADILLAC LYRIQ- Ben Lomond, CA
MALFUNCTION: In normal driving mode the stop lamp / brake lights do not shut off after releasing the braking controls. The stop lamps will shut off only after the accelerator pedal is used, or when the vehicle coasts below 10mph. SAFETY: 1) When descending mountain roads the stop lamps remain illuminated for extended periods of time. In some cases the stop lamps remain illuminated for hundreds or thousands of feet after the brake controls have been released. In these situations the vehicle is now coasting downhill and NOT decelerating. In these situations there is no indication / communication provided to the traffic behind me that I am now braking and no longer coasting since the stop lamps have remained on since the previous braking event. 2) In addition, I am unable to communicate to vehicles behind by flashing my stop lamps multiple times by multiple taps on the brake pedal. The first use of the brake controls cause the stop lamps illuminate and they will remain illuminated until I use the accelerator. CONFIRMED: I have communicated with my local Cadillac dealer and they have confirmed this takes place, and they call it a 'feature' of the vehicle. THIS IS NOT: One Pedal Driving. The stop lamps illuminate correctly in this setting. Adaptive Cruise Control. The stop lamps illuminate correctly in this setting. Automatic Collision Avoidance. The stop lamps illuminate correctly in this setting.

The digital instrument cluster will at random times go dark while driving. Took car to the dealership and they say there is no recall or service bulletin. This has happened so many times and i lose speedometer, fuel level and all other critical information all while driving. This is a safety issue and should be something done to resolve this as its dangerous.

2016 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Las Vegas, NV
At highway speed, the engine lifters associated with the Active Fuel Management system failed and caused catastrophic damage throughout the engine. The sudden loss of power on the highway almost caused vehicles traveling behind me to collide.
