2023 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV- Treasure Island, FL
The night vision camera lens on my 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV cracked from what appears to be road debris during normal highway driving. No collision occurred. The crack — a star pattern consistent with a rock strike — was discovered during a service visit on December 1, 2025 (RO 502394, 37,314 miles). I was not aware of the failure prior to that visit, meaning the safety system may have been inoperative for an unknown period. The lens is positioned very low on the driver side grille with no protection — directly in the path of road debris at highway speeds. This placement of a standard glass lens on a safety-critical system appears to be a design defect. Research confirms multiple Cadillac owners across the Escalade and XT6 have reported identical cracking from road debris, suggesting a systemic issue across GM night vision systems. Replacement cost is $1,701.23 and requires a proprietary tool available only at Cadillac dealers. GM has categorized this as a road hazard requiring an insurance claim rather than addressing it as a design defect.

Vehicle experienced a sudden tire blowout and loss of control matching recall 25V704000. Rear driver side Tire ruptured while driving, bounced car to the left , hit car mirror off of a mailbox, then car bounced off to the right of road. When I described this incident to my friend who works at GM quality, he believes this description fits perfectly the tire failure/ recall GM had on continental tires in 2025. However, my VIN shows 0 active recalls. The manufacturer's recall boundary is too narrow and must be expanded to include this vehicle block. The dealer charged me $1,100 for consequential wheel damage.

low beam head lights are very dim, to dim to see while driving. Apparently this is a problem that Cadillac and/or GM knows about but isn't doing anything to resolve. Heat from the bulbs basically melt the chrome off of the reflector plate so light does not shine out on the road. This could be a very big hazzard while driving, deer, children etc can not be seen with the lights as they are. To replace are ridiculosly expensive to the customer but doesnt seem like it would be for the dealer!! Complete neglect on the manufacturs end.

The vehicle has had breaking issues since I purchased it in September 23, 2023. On April 26, 2025 the car completely shut down while driving it for no apparent reason. Took it to the certified Cadillac dealer (see picture). Said, it was fixed. May 11, 2026 started doing it again while driving, turning, backing up or at a light. Breaks keep saying need to be serviced too. Had it towed in to Cadillac dealer they can’t get it to repeat problem or get codes to find out problem. I got Cadillac involved to help. Case number 98248412. Had to pick car up today spoke again with service manager at Cadillac dealer. He said, car has major issues and it’s rearing its ugly head (car is defective). He can’t get the codes because whatever is going on with car it’s not talking to the computer. I’ve been on a major highway and the car just shuts down. I’ve asked Cadillac to repurchase the car because I am afraid of being in a major accident and killed because I never know when the car will shut down. Cadillac told, me to keep driving the car until it showed up again and they would not repurchase it. If I get rear ended on a 4 line highway by a semi truck because the car just shut down myself and family could be killed.

Me and my husband were visiting my brother in Vienna, Maryland and we were packing up to leave to go visit my mom and the surrounding area where we live and then go home. After my husband got everything in the car as well as the kids and my dog we were both getting in the car he had gotten in prior to me and shut the door and all of the SRS airbags went off while the car was in park. There were no warning messages on the dashboard. There is no damage to the outside of the car. I had put my claim through my insurance company, and they deemed it mechanical failure.

2025 CADILLAC ESCALADE- Jacksonville, FL
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2025 Cadillac Escalade, which experienced a catastrophic engine failure while being driven on a public roadway with approximately 13,000 miles on the vehicle. While traveling from [XXX] to [XXX] , the vehicle suddenly lost power while in motion. A warning message appeared stating “Press to Start Again.” The engine shut off completely while driving, causing an immediate loss of propulsion. The vehicle went into neutral, and I was forced to maneuver to the side of the road to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. Once stopped, the vehicle would not restart. Multiple attempts were made using both the push-button ignition and key fob remote start, but the vehicle remained inoperable. The vehicle was towed and later diagnosed as requiring a complete engine replacement despite being less than one year old. I believe this is a serious safety defect because the vehicle lost power without warning while being driven. Had this occurred in heavier traffic, while crossing an intersection, merging, or traveling at higher speeds, it could have resulted in a serious accident, injury, or death. This was not the first major issue with this vehicle. Within weeks of taking delivery, multiple components required repair or replacement, including: • Complete replacement of the camera system due to defective cameras • Replacement of a defective lighting component • Transmission failure concerns • Cylinder #2 misfire issues The repeated failures of major vehicle systems, culminating in a complete engine failure and loss of propulsion while driving, raise serious concerns about the safety and reliability of this vehicle. Additionally, after the engine failure, the vehicle could not be placed into neutral and had to be dragged onto a tow truck, causing damage to the tires and raising concerns about emergency roadside recovery procedures.
