2010 CADILLAC SRX- Worcester, MA
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact received NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the traction control, stabilitrak, and rear axle warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started to shake uncontrollably, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn, with an abnormal noise. The contact mentioned that the tires were wearing unevenly due to the defective toe link. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to fix the defect. The contact also stated that an abnormal grinding sound would emit from the axle. Additionally, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle. 2016 CADILLAC SRX- Mechanicsburg, PA
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated upon entering the vehicle, she noticed that there was a crack on the CUE (Cadillac User Experience) system screen. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated while she was driving, she touched the cue system screen however, it failed to respond due to the crack. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that she would be responsible for the cost of the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated while driving 50 mph in the rain, due to the dim lighting on the headlights he failed to see a sofa in the middle of the freeway and crashed into it. The contact stated he did not sustain any injuries nor sought medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer and repaired the structural damage on the body but did not inform the failure of the dim lighting. The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the headlights would dimly illuminate while in operation without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that moisture had entered the headlight module which caused the headlights to be dim. The contact notified the dealer of the failure and they acknowledged that the headlight failure was a known issue; however, there was no recall placed on the vehicle.
