  • 2025 CADILLAC XT6
    - Missouri City, TX

2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM [XXX] [XXX] ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026. THE VEHICLE'S AUDIO SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVATES ALL SPEAKERS WITHOUT COMMAND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE CONDITION OCCURS UNPREDICTABLY AND PRODUCES A SUDDEN LOUD AUDIO EVENT INSIDE THE CABIN THAT STARTLES THE DRIVER AND CREATES A DRIVER- DISTRACTION HAZARD. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO DEVELOPED A PERSISTENT DASHBOARD RATTLE, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO THE SAME UNDERLYING BODY- CONTROL-MODULE OR WIRING ISSUE. I HAVE REPORTED THESE CONDITIONS TO CENTRAL [XXX] . THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE FOR AN UNRELATED CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE (SEE COMPANION NHTSA COMPLAINT FILED BY THIS CONSUMER). I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT SO NHTSA CAN EVALUATE WHETHER OTHER 2024–2026 CADILLAC XT6 VEHICLES HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME UNCOMMANDED AUDIO ACTIVATION AND WHETHER THE CONDITION WARRANTS INVESTIGATION. NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. THE RISK IS DRIVER DISTRACTION FROM AN UNEXPECTED LOUD AUDIO EVENT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM CENTRAL [XXX] CADILLAC ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026 WITH 3,950 MILES. WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS OF DELIVERY THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED AN ABNORMAL ENGINE NOISE AT COLD START AND AN INTERMITTENT VIBRATION DURING DRIVING. I REPORTED BOTH SYMPTOMS TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC BY PHONE AND TEXT MESSAGE. DEALER PERSONNEL TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS "NORMAL" AND THAT "ALL CADILLAC/GM VEHICLES HAVE THAT ISSUE." BASED ON THAT ASSURANCE I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS FAMILY TRANSPORTATION, INCLUDING WITH MY MINOR CHILDREN ONBOARD, ONE OF WHOM IS A SPECIAL-NEEDS CHILD. IN APRIL 2026, APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC FOR AN UNRELATED CONCERN. AT THAT VISIT THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A CATASTROPHIC INTERNAL ENGINE DEFECT AND ADVISED THAT COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 DAYS WHILE THE ENGINE IS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE IN A NEARLY-NEW VEHICLE CREATES A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, STALLING, LOSS OF CONTROL, OR UNDERHOOD FIRE. THE DEALER'S INITIAL MISCHARACTERIZATION OF THE WARNING SYMPTOM (COLD-START KNOCK) AS "NORMAL" IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNING AND SUGGESTS A POTENTIAL PATTERN ACROSS 2024–2025 CADILLAC XT6 VEHICLES THAT NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE. NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. NO FIRE HAS OCCURRED. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED WITH CHILDREN ONBOARD AFTER THE DEFECT BEGAN MANIFESTING AND BEFORE THE DEALER PROPERLY DIAGNOSED IT. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT SO NHTSA CAN EVALUATE WHETHER A PATTERN EXISTS IN THIS ENGINE AND TO ENSURE THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE REMOVED FROM MY VEHICLE IS PRESERVED FOR POTENTIAL INVESTIGATION. • 2024 CADILLAC LYRIQ
    - LAS VEGAS, NV

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The issue involves the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and the transition between regenerative braking and friction braking in my Cadillac Lyriq (RWD). The ABS engages unexpectedly during normal braking conditions when using one-pedal driving. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The unexpected ABS activation creates inconsistent and unpredictable braking behavior, including a pulsing sensation and reduced braking confidence. This affects the driver’s ability to modulate braking smoothly and predict stopping distance, increasing the risk of a collision, especially in normal traffic conditions where consistent braking response is critical. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue has been reproduced during multiple visits to authorized Cadillac dealerships. However, I have been told that the vehicle is “operating as designed,” despite the abnormal braking behavior. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by multiple authorized Cadillac dealerships and the issue has been escalated to General Motors. No resolution or fix has been provided to date. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There are no warning lights or messages associated with this issue. The problem occurs intermittently during normal driving conditions, particularly when transitioning from regenerative braking (one-pedal driving) to applying the brake pedal. The issue began shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle and has persisted since.

  • 2022 CADILLAC ESCALADE
    - FORT MYERS, FL

I purchased Used in Jan 2026 When starting the lifters were loud and I thought was normal engine operation. Since 2/17/2026 the engine vibrated or ran rough when idling. The auto/Stop Start feature failed randomly as the engine stalled when trying to start. The car passed the recall for the 6.2 Gm L85 engine issue, but is still having issues. The dealership Val Ward Ft Myers has the car now, and is replacing the lifters. My concern is that the Lower Engine issue was not properly diagnosed.

    - Rome, ME

2022 Cadillac Escalade. Had the 6.2 liter engine recall done about 6K miles ago in which the engine was replaced. Now it’s back at the dealer again and needs another 6.2 liter engine. Been at the dealer for a month and GM has given them no update on when they can get another engine for it. This is insane. How am I ever supposed to be able to take my family around in this vehicle if the engines keep failing. Unfortunately I just bought this from the a dealer 6 months ago so I’m stuck with a vehicle that I do not trust… a $111,000 vehicle.

Hey, Just wanted to let you know that I took my car in for the recall service on the 6.2L engine issues, They determined my engine was fine and changed the oil to the different one. Within 6 months the engine blow while I was driving, they covered it under the recall however it is clear that the oil change is not an appropriate fix for this issue. thanks

  • 2011 CADILLAC DTS
    - Fresno, TX

Car power shut off while driving on the highway to church and almost got in an accident. Pulled to the side and smelled smoke. Lifted the back seat and opened the fuse box and looked. Lifted the fuel pump fuse and it was burnt. Me and my family got stuck on the side of the highway instead of church and spending time on a holiday.

  • 2024 CADILLAC LYRIQ
    - EDGEWATER, NJ

My 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ generated the following High Voltage Battery fault codes via On-Demand Diagnostic: U2B4A, U2B4D, U2B50, U2B53, U2B56, U2B59, U2B5C, U2B5F, U2B62, U2B65, U2B68 — all under module VIC - Lithium-Ion Battery. Multiple codes are flagged "Service Right Away" indicating an active fault in the high voltage propulsion battery system. I brought the vehicle to Lindsay Cadillac, Alexandria VA [XXX] ) on [INSERT DROP-OFF DATE]. As of today [INSERT TODAY'S DATE], the vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for [X] days with ZERO repair action taken. The service manager has stated he does not know what to do, has no timeline, and cannot provide any answers. GM Technical Service Bulletins PIP6009B and 25-NA-044 specifically cover these exact DTCs and provide a documented repair procedure. The dealer has failed to follow or initiate this procedure. No loaner vehicle was provided despite this being a warranty repair on inoperative vehicle. I have been forced to rent a vehicle at $125/day out of pocket. I have an open Cadillac Concierge case number [93707662 #]. Cadillac Concierge was unable to reach the dealer's service department by phone. I have escalated in writing to GM's executive office including [XXX] and [XXX] with no resolution. This is a high voltage battery fault on an all-electric vehicle flagged as "Service Right Away" severity. The vehicle remains unrepaired, the dealer is unresponsive, and GM's own customer service cannot reach the dealer. This represents both a safety concern and a complete failure of the warranty service obligation. I am requesting NHTSA investigation of both the underlying battery defect and the dealer's failure to act on a known TSB. • 2021 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
    - Atwater, OH

The contact owns a 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Several dealers were previously contacted for recall inspection appointments, and the contact was informed that the manufacturer had denied the request to perform the service. A dealer was recently contacted and agreed to schedule the recall repair appointment. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle would remain with the dealer in the event that the vehicle failed the inspection, and the vehicle would be repaired in 3-4 months because the part was on backorder. The contact was informed that vehicle rental assistance might not be provided. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
