While driving in rush hour traffic, engine completely stopped. We were stranded in traffic for 2 hours until the police came to help push us out of the street. It was 20 degrees and we sat for 4 hours to get towed. After much ado, the dealership stated the following; "Checked and found engine wouldn't crank over, towed vehicle into the shop. Removed inspection cover to access torque convertor bolts, removed bolts engine still will not turn over. Checked oil in engine full of metal. Engine crank seized will need engine replacement." Upon further investigation, the recall for this vehicle only covers 2021-2025 however this is the same problem that is happening under the recalled years.

    - Dallas, TX

The vehicle has experienced repeated failures of the infotainment and display system, including the screen going blank and displaying “no content available” while functions such as Apple CarPlay are actively in use. The issue affects the ability to control media and view system information from both the main display and steering wheel controls. The vehicle has undergone multiple repair attempts, including replacement of the human machine interface (HMI) module and radio module, as well as repeated programming. Despite these repairs, the issue continues to reoccur, including immediately after the most recent repair. The condition is intermittent and difficult to duplicate, and a field service engineer has been unable to consistently reproduce the issue. The dealership has indicated there may not be a current fix and that resolution could depend on a future software update. This ongoing failure of critical display and control systems raises safety concerns and has not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts.

Purchased the vehicle 1 year ago and immediately it had oil consumption problems. Got low oil alarm after 2000 miles from the dealers oil change. Dealer told us it was within “specs”. 6 months ago we were told the 6.2 engine had a recall and a different type oil will be used. 1 month ago the engine locked up and it is now at the dealer waiting for an engine. Asked another car dealership about trading it in and they would not accept it as a trade-in because it currently has a stop sale issued. This means the vehicle is now worth nothing! Well, I have to hire Attorney to get anything for this vehicle? We paid $75,000 for it a year ago

    - GREEN VALLEY, AZ

On July 28, 2025, while driving the vehicle on public street, a warning flashed that the brakes have failed. In fact the brakes were totally inoperative. Driver was able to clear traffic and exit the roadway without incident. The Cadillac dealership found no issue with the brakes, but did "update the brake control module." In March, 2026 a crack in the windshield appeared. Safelite Company was unable to replace the windshield, as their computer showed several modular errors, preventing them from recalibrating a new windshield. The car was taken to the local Cadillac Dealer, who was presented with a printout showing the following: Code U1961-92, "fail since clear. Code U164E-00, "fail since clear. Code U1605-00, "fail since clear", Code U1974-00, "fail since clear", U197A-00, "fail since clear", Code U1961-92 "fail since clear". The dealer reported that these error codes are no problem, and declined to take any action. They further advised that if a warning of any issue appears to bring the car in.

The shiny plastic piece behind dash screen & the back of the dash screen itself create a reflection in the windshield through the entire drivers side of the car. It seems both distracting and dangerous as with any amount of sunlight you are essentially always looking through that glare to see the road.
