2016 CHEVROLET COLORADO Complaints

Key gets stuck in ignition, that should be a safety report, not able to get key out of your truck to get the key out if you need to get out in a hurry. Everybody with this year model is having this problem, all you have to do is Google it 2016 Colorado key getting stuck in ignition

I was driving on the high way and the power steering went out almost sent me into another car

Electrical power steering failure. Electrical power steering will go out during driving or when you just start the vehicle.

I was driving on 57 freeway in CA and as I was exiting the freeway the power steering just went out I almost hit the center divider. And then today it happened again 3 times on may way to work. I have to pull over shut the Truck off and restart the Truck and it will work fine.

After putting the vehicle in PARK, I turn off the ignition but the key will not rotate to the correct position in order to remove the key...it is stuck. Yes available for inspection. unable to remove the key means the vehicle can not be locked. no the vehicle has not been inspected., no warning lights were activated and no signs of an upcoming problem. It started about a month ago (once) and now it is occurring every time. I have looked on Youtube and there are multiple videos of people with this problem and there thoughts on a "work around". They describe it as something to do with a pin in the ignition switch what fails to move when the vehicle is put in PARK. One guy drilled a hole in the cover so he can insert a bolt into the housing in order to "hit" that pin, no one should have to do that.

The power steering stops working. Making it hard to steer. From my research Chevrolet recalled the 2015 models for the same problem. Also some forum and blogs are complaining about the same problem I'm having with my truck. Mine just goes out without any indication. I have ask the dealer about it. and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I called Chevrolet but no help. My truck was manufactured on 3/17/16. This has happened 5 or 6 times but the form will only let me enter one date which I used the last time it happened.

I was at 60mph on the freeway my powersteering went out . Dash light come on it said power steering fail . I was able to get to the side of the road . I turn off the motor and turn it back on it reseat .It keep going out the dealership said there not a recall on this.

1 – Power steering and StabiliTrak assist drive with care warning comes on while driving and power steering gets hard to control. oThe vehicle will be available for inspection upon request, I’ll have a video of the problem because it happens sporadically. 2 – Safety while driving for me, passengers, and other drivers around me: oThe first time it happened was on January 5th, 2022 after pulling out of work during rush hour. -It was hard to maneuver while driving, and it is complicated to do a sharp turn. The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle and restored steering functionality. The contact stated that the power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the steering gear torque sensor replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. The VIN was not available.

My power steering goes out intermittently. I get a power steering drive with care and stabilitrak service on my dash. It’ll go back to normal when I shut off the truck and restart. But sometimes the service error doesn’t go away. Also, while power steering is out service rear camera comes in intermittently too.
