Power Steering went out, light came on. Truck was difficult to steer. To my understanding there is a recall on the 2015 with same make and model. I stopped the truck. Problem was resolved when I restarted it. No sure if that is a permanent solution.

While going 70 on the freeway, I lost power assist on my steering. I immediately slowed and drove to a gas station. I read in the manual it was still safe to drive. I highly disagree. After turning it off and restarting the engine, the steering returned to normal. My mechanic told me it was the steering sensor based on the error message. He suggested I drive it to see if it repeats. I am afraid this could cause an accident and I understand it's a know problem that was only addressed in 2015 models. Same thing with my gym trainer. 2016 Colorado and it happened 4 months ago. He's waiting as well.

While driving the power steering failed and the stabilitrack failed. The failure codes are C0545 and U0420 indicating a steering wheel torque sensor malfunction which was also a failure that prompted a recall on the 2015 chevrolet colorado. The dash flashed the warnings giving notice that both had failed.

I lost power steering and stabilitrak appeared on the truck screen. I turned off the vehicle engine twice at different lights, but power steering did not come back and stabilitrak kept appearing.
