2024 CHEVROLET EQUINOX Complaints

Dashboard design creating significant glare on the windshield. Visibility is impaired.

Design flaw/safety issue? The dash trim gets reflected onto the windshield and severely impairs visibility.

The way the dash is made, anytime there is bright sunlight the reflection on the windshield makes it very difficult to see. This makes it very difficult to drive safely and see what is ahead of you, especially when switching between bright sunlight and a shaded area.

After engaging the right turn signal and turning the wheel in that direction, then turning it back to the center for some reason makes the left turn signal click on for three clicks. The frontal collision warning system is way too sensitive when creeping up to stopped traffic it will beep when there is no risk of collision. And finally the blindspot detection sometimes warns the driver even when there's traffic coming from the opposite direction on the road when there's no risk of collision.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was concerned about driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed and determined that the air hose was leaking. The dealer informed the contact that the parts were not available to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

There is an extreme glare in the windshield coming from the dashboard in normal daylight conditions. While a minor glare or in occasion is common, this glare is constant, excessive and reduces road visibility inhibiting operators field of vision. This will cause operating errors and accidents and should be addressed.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the brake pedal depressed the floorboard without warning and failed to slow down as needed. During the second failure, the contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, the vehicle initially accelerated upon depression of the brake pedal before the vehicle started to slow down. As the contact depressed the brake pedal to the floorboard; the vehicle failed to brake in time and crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's head hit the steering wheel; the contact was treated a few days later for a minor concussion by a primary care doctor. The contact's wife also suffered minor bruising and scratches due to the accident. The other driver was not treated for any injuries at the scene. A police report was filed. Both vehicles were able to be driven away from the scene of the accident. The dealer and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure; the contact was given a case number by the manufacturer. The vehicle was taken to an independent body shop where it remained in their possession. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

The plastics used in the dashboard are very reflective and cause a glare on the windshield would significantly reduces the ability to see. This is most predominant when the vehicle is in the direct sunlight and ahead of you is shaded. There are other people on different forums that complain about this specific issue.
