2024 CHEVROLET EQUINOX Complaints

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV. The contact stated that the front driver's side windshield wiper travel was reduced, reducing the visibility of the roadway while driving in the rain. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving under the sun, the dashboard reflection on the windshield was significant, severely reducing the visibility of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 300.

Defective turn signal stalk -- often after I engage the right turn signal and complete a right turn, the left turn signal will flash for approximately three blinks, falsely alerting others in my vicinity that I'm preparing for a left turn or lane change. Additionally, it is often difficult to engage the right turn signal, as the stalk won't stay engaged, making it difficult for me to signal a right turn or lane change.

I bought an Equinox EV on August 13, 2024. After purchasing, I found the infotainment system and central cluster became very hot after driving for about 45 minutes. The infotainment screen even was too hot to be touched. The dealer checked the car on 08/20, found error codes related to Front Faceplate Temperature Control Circuits, as the attached DTC report shows. Instead of fixing the errors, the dealer erased the codes, and told me comparing with a new like vehicle, the screen temperature is normal. I used the car next day, both cluster and infotainment screens became overheating again after about 45 minutes driving. I measured the temperature of the infotainment screen, it reached about 150 oF. This is certainly not normal. The overheating has posed safety risk to me. The central cluster and infotainment system can be damaged by the overheating and causes serious accident someday.

The windshield has such a severe glare from reflecting the dashboard in most lighting during the day that it is extremely difficult to see. This poses a safety issue because it is difficult to see pedestrians or other road hazards.

When operating the turn signal after finishing the turn when it cancels it will sometimes activate the lane change feature for the opposite direction causing the signals to give a false indication of intended action by the driver.

We have been driving the new GM Chevy 2024 Equinox EV for a few days (only 74 miles so far) and it has been great but wanted to report a safety concern with the design of the front dash board and curvature/angle of the windshield. It is as follows. When driving into the sun on a bright sunny day there is a bad reflection from the rippled dashboard back on to the interior windshield. This makes it more difficult to see the road ahead. Leading to driver eye fatigue and possible distractions when driving into bright sunshine.

After completing a right turn with a right turn signal, the car will sometimes signal a left turn for 3 blinks. I believe this is because the turn signal stalk 'bounces' down to the left turn signal area when returning back to normal position from a right turn. This is a safety issue because the car is signaling a left turn when no turn is intended. This could cause confusion to other drivers on the road. This does not appear to be unique to my vehicle. Some people get the stalk replaced and the issue still persists. This does not happen after ending every right turn, but it happens at least once per day. In my 2024 chevy equinox after about 4months of ownership, our car is no longer blowing cold air and or blowing out enough air flow. It has only gotten worst.

My wife got into her car and the car flashed a “service ESC” and “service brake system” before disappearing. As she was driving to the end of our driveway, she tried to stop and the car rolled twenty or so feet before it finally came to a stop.
