2020 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Complaints

6.2L ENGINE NOISE AT START UP AND STAYS ON AND LOSES ENGINE POWER SLUGGISH ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE DRIVING SAME ISSUE LIKE THE CURRENT RECALL ON ALL 6.2L EXCEPT MINE WAS BUILT RIGHT BEFORE APPROVED RECALL DATES BUT HAS SAME ENGINE L87 WITH SAME ISSUE AND IS CURRENTLY UNDRIVEABLE AND DANGEROUS IF TAKEN ON ROAD. REGULAR OIL CHANGES AT 50% OIL LIFE WITH RECOMMENDED MOBIL1 OIL & ACDELCO OIL FILTER.

I have 2020 Chevy 1500 with L87 engines on it. We have the exact same issues that the 2021 1500 recall is having. Loses power, noisy engine when at start. Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula told me that they were going to replace the engine per GM but then GM only auth the repair. 8 barring kits, 8 rings 8 piston kits lot of bolts and gastkit and seals. Talked to GM every tho it’s the same engine they won’t replace it since not on recall. Don’t understand how the same engine in a car one year before the recall. I have all the paperwork video of the noise pictures of the Pistons. I failed from the dealer. Had to get the truck towed to the dealer cause the car wouldn’t turn on and all this happened with only 68,833 miles.

Engine lifter failure while traveling at highway speeds, loss of power in traffic during rush hour on a multi lane interstate nearly got rear ended and side swiped.

The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was concerned that both failures were connected. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

Major engine failure, a lifter went bad and caused metal all through the motor. Had to purchase new motor.

The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed torque converter. The contact was informed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall with a similar failure; however, the VIN was not associated with the unknown recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,442.

The truck only has 54106 MI problem with the key coming out after turning it off . Have to turn engine on and off until the key comes off.

Brakes applied on their own while driving. Before being able to stop the rotors both front and rear were very hot and the smell of burning brake pads was evident. Let the truck shit after getting off the side of the road for a bit. Brakes seemed to release started driving and the brakes applied themselves again. We slowly stop and go drove home a few miles on the side of the road with the flashers on.
