2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Complaints

Bought 4/2023 at 98326 mileage. At 7/23 major issues take place trying to drive. Taken to original dealer where purchased, at 102581. Had to replace the air conditioner and throttle body plus equaling over $3000. I had bought extended warranty at $3384. Now at 139000 miles the transmission is gone!!!

We were heading on vacation to Florida on the evening of [XXX].While driving [XXX] towards Athens, Alabama we heard a squealing noise from our engine that lasted a minute then it stopped. We got off at the closest exit and realized that we had “No Brakes “. I prayed for our safety. Our truck ran through two stoplights that were red at the time. I downshifted the vehicle and stood on the brakes (hard pedal) and jumped over two concrete curbs before it finally came to a stop. We had it towed to Champion Chevrolet dealership in Athens Alabama. They diagnosed the problem as a brake vacuum pump that locked up and broke the belt too leaving us with no brakes at all. Champion Chevrolet worked us in and replaced the vacuum pump and belt.And got us back on the road for our vacation. We had to pay for a tow truck $100. An overnight stay at a hotel $150. I’m concerned about the tires, rims, alignment and suspension being damaged by jumping over the concrete curbs. I’m requesting a free inspection at a local Chevrolet dealership to thoroughly inspect and repair any damaged parts and a realignment. I also am out of pocket $250 for the tow and hotel room. I feel I’m being fair to ask for reimbursement and repairs. The dealership didn’t charge me for the repairs of the vacuum pump and drive belt as it was covered by a special recall (N182202780). Please direct me for escalation of reimbursement ,complimentary inspection and repair of my 2017 Silverado suspension or damages involved in this incident. I have a tork converter that locking the transmission and causing the truck to down shift and sometimes comes to a quick stop when braking. I am afraid if a family member drives the truck it could cause them to make a dangerous move in on goin traffic. Or not stopping and hitting a person or another vehicle. It hits hard and stops while pulling the vehicle in on coming traffic especially when not exspecting it all of a sudden.

excessive squealing noise coming from rear brakes from both sides of truck. I am original owner, and truck has less then 15,571 miles on it. Drove it to Chevrolet dealer in Kingsland Ga to evaluate. Before I arrived, about a 15-minute drive the Brake towing warning light came on. I was told by the dealership that both Brake Calipers had to be replaced as well as the brake pads that were damaged due to Brake Calipers locking up. The brake Rotors were fine and needed nothing. Repairs cost me around $1000 dollars. I think this is an unusual event due to the low milage, truck has always been garaged and dealership maintain. It's in brand new condition. Pulling a camper or trailer or even normal driving without towing could potentially cause an incident, fire or wreck. My truck is gasoline not diesel not included in the current safety bulletin. Truck was kept for 2 days for repairs.

When stop and starts going you can feel that gear gets stuck and it takes a sudden jump to the next gear and goes forward.

As I was driving I received a call while my phone was plugged in to the USB charging port and as I answered the call all the gauges on my dash, as well as the radio and all my warning lights shut off and turned back on and calibrated as if I first started the vehicle and reset. Then the radio and things wouldn't work. I had to pull over shut off the truck and restart it. This has happened 2 times already in less than as year I contacted the dealer and they really don't seem to care and keep putting me off or telling me they will call me which never happens. As of writing this still not fixed.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where the contact was advised to take to vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger side door air bag needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the repairs were not covered by a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

HAVE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW HAD PROBLEM WITH TORQUE CONVERTOR SHUDDER HAD DONE 4 TRANSMISSION FLUSH WITH THE NEW MOBIL ONE ATF FLUID AND JUST RECENTLY A NEW GM TORQUE CONVERTOR STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUES HESTINATING ,ROUCH SHIFTING FEEL LIKE BEING REAR ENDEND HAVE EXTENTED WARRENTY THUR DEALER WHERE I PURCHASE TRUCK BUT THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT DO TO THE CLASS AGATING LAW SUIT WITH GENERAL MOTOR IM STUCK IN MIDDLE

To be clear, the vehicle was not in an accident. The check airbag light keeps pinging every few minutes while driving. So I took to the Chevrolet of Watsonvill dealership and said the truck has a faulty passenger door airbag, which raises safety concerns for me. I have a [XXX] son as well as two [XXX] parents that sit in the passenger seat often and would hate for that faulty airbag to either deploy while driving or not deploy when needed. This is a complaint in regards to the trailer breaking system in my certified pre-owned 2017 Chevy Silverado that I purchased in April of this year, 2024. I purchased this truck in particular for its high ratings in safety and towing capabilities. (April- May 2024) While towing a 22ft trailer from Virginia to Washington state, there were several moments where the “service trailer braking system” alert would appear on the dash. Driving on the interstate for days on end is twice as stressful when you have to wonder if your trailer brakes are reliable. If the trailer brakes were to suddenly stop working it would be dangerous for me and my passengers, as well as those around me on the road. (Sept- Oct 2024) We aren’t towing a trailer anymore, but the “service trailer braking system” light has been going off every couple minutes.
