2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Belmont, NH
Transmission failure, I had to have the transmission replaced and no longer have it for inspection. I was on a one lane highway in Franconia NH with guardrails on each side, and no phone reception. Traffic was trying to get by me including tractor trailers, we were horrified and couldn't get out. these 6L80 transmission in the Chevy Silverado, come to find out, have been failing for a long time. 2 of my friends lost there's also, all of us were between 100k-115K miles. The transmission shop I went to, and others I called said they can't believe there was never a recall, they get many of them. Zero warning, just quit. I take exception care of my vehicles regarding maintenance, always early, these are to expensive to repair when your on a retired budget.

Issue is based off of this service bulletin, but GM has failed to call a recall on this for coverage. I was driving my daughter to softball practice. Every few minutes there would be a "stabilitrak" message showing on the driving information area. Then in slower speeds my dashboard screen would blank out and then go back to CarPlay. Then once I approached a parking lot at slower speeds my vehicle lost total power and shut down. Then had to switching the gear to park, then turn off the ignition key, then wait a few seconds and turn the key on to start the truck. It started as normal and was able to park in the parking space. Very scary and this is a very serious issue, I could have been in an accident with my daughter. This has to be addressed, I can't be the only one having this issue.

I was driving to work last Monday when my truck entered a lymph mode. It would only let me go 40mph, when I was on a road that allowed others to go 60-70mph. I had traffic behind me as well. As I made it closer to work, the truck would only rev up. It left me sitting in a median with traffic going past me. Thankfully, I was not hit. I had to cut the truck off, wait several minutes, then start it back up to limp it to a safe spot where I could have it towed. I had it towed to a transmission shop. Please note* I have done the regular transmission maintenance on this vehicle as well. This shop done a diagnostic test on it ($95 +tax). It was a complete transmission failure. They told me this was due to the torque converter. General Motors, GM, programmed the transmission torque converter to kick on in 2nd gear which causes it to overheat practically everytime it drives. The same transmission shop said they rebuild 3-4 of the 6L80 transmissions a week. I have a 2017 chevy silverado with a 6 speed transmission, the 6L80..... This is an issue that GM should be held liable for. The transmission rebuild will be $4500-4800 + tax. Thank you to whomever reads this. I could really use help. My email is [XXX] . Phone number is [XXX] . I can provide rebuild cost and receipts when needed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I experienced issues with braking including shuddering brakes. I took the vehicle to a repair shop who looked into any active recalls and there were none, I had the electronic brake control module recall completed in 2019. The shop replaced the front brakes and resurfaced the back which did not fix the issue. They then replaced the vacuum pump which did fix the issue I was responsible for all costs. I recently noticed my vehicle is covered under special coverage N182202780 through 2027 which covers the cost of the vacuum pump replacement. Chevy is refusing to reimburse for the costs because the work was not done at their dealership despite not having a recall that States that. I would like the issue addressed theough a formal recall and reimbursement of repair costs as Chevy is obviously aware there is a safety issue related to braking due to failing components.

There is a faulty weld on the radiator of my 2017 chevy silverado 1500 LT that cracked and began to leak coolant. Dealer stated that this is a common issue and there was no other remedy but to replace the radiator and coolant lines. i have seen bulletins and warranties for earlier models but the issue is still there.
