2025 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Complaints

cold starts sometime there is an audible tick, there is also occasional low oil pressure and the gauge drops and returns to the normal range

I was driving on the freeway and got a service trailer brake system and a brake system failure 62mph top speed. I exited the freeway and came to a stop sign and hit my brakes to stop but was unable to stop and blew through the stop sign. Luckily there were no cars at the intersection and I was by myself.

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. The contact stated that water was coming from underneath the driver’s side dashboard. Additionally, the steering wheel was jerking while the lane assist feature was activated; however, the vehicle was not veering to the left or right side of the lane. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and several failure codes were retrieved, and a water test was performed; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was repaired; however, while the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The driver pulled over to the shoulder of the road, and after selecting the 2WD feature, the 4WD feature was disengaging, even though the 4WD warning light was not illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Chevrolet of Troy (1375 S Market St, Troy, OH 45373) for a second opinion. The contact was informed that DTC: U1611 was retrieved, and several unknown repairs were needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

The engine has been using atleast 1 quart of oil every 2000 miles. This is put my maintenance cost way above the estimated maintenance cost projected by the manufacturer This oil usage is also causing premature engine wear as it's a quart low every 2000 miles. Dealer responses was this is normal for this engine. I went back and forth with the about estimated maintenance cost and ofcourse there responses was it estimated, well that's a very inaccurate estimate or willful lie. Idk just not happy about it.

4//6/26 took truck in for knocking noise on the passenger side of the engine- Service could not reproduce the knocking. 6-26-26 low oil light comes on just 3000 miles after oil change - took truck to the dealer - dealer put 2 quarts of oil in the engine. 7-5-26 truck is running poorly took truck into dealership truck displays code P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire. scoped cylinder 7 and it was damaged beyond repair from piston ring failure. 8-6-26 New 6.2L L87 engine installation complete.

Total engine failure . While driving on the highway car started shaking violently and rattling. Car completely shut down was towed to Chevy dealership and was told it needed a full engine replacement. They said there was a hole in the engine the size of a tennis ball and said it was not user error but a defect . They also indicated we were lucky it didn’t blow up. Car is still being repaired . Being replaced with a gm remanufactured engine

There have been multiple instances of engine ticking upon start up. I have 4 videos with sound. I can provide a link if necessary to dropbox or google drive if necessary since there is no way to upload them to this site. This has been reported by GM 6.2L owners as being a precursor to engine failure. I have not had the sound confirmed by a dealer or service center. The vehicle has not been inspected. There have been no warning lamps.

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle remotely, an abnormal grinding and banging sound was heard emanating from the engine compartment. The vehicle independently shut off. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle remotely, but the vehicle shut off again. The contact then attempted to start the vehicle manually, but the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,425.

The engine in my truck had a catastrophic failure (6.2 litre), same as the thousands with the same problem / failure. It had to be towed to the dealership where it underwent a complete engine replacement... it had 8,906 miles on it at the time of the engine failure. It died after making horrendous and loud noise, I was able to coast for a short distance but it came to a stop in the middle of a residential street and had to be towed to a safe location until the dealership could pick it up and tow it to their facility for diagnostics and repairs. I have the invoice with detailed information of the repairs and parts used.

Engine crank bearings failed at only 16,310 miles. Engine replaced with a new one due severe internal damage.
