During cold weather, temperatures below freezing, both sideview mirrors open fully extended contacting the fenders, sometimes open partially, sometimes open 3/4 of the way. Cycling the mirrors closed then open condition repeats. Each mirror responds independently from the other. This resulted in dents on each fender from the mirrors when they open fully. The doors cannot be opened without further damaging the fenders and or the mirrors. Once the temperature rises above freezing, the mirrors return to normal function. The truck is available for inspection upon request. Safety concern and risk exists without function and use of sideview mirrors. Cannot see down both sides of vehicle behind when operating. The safety and risk increases exponentially when towing. The problem was not duplicated at the dealership due to the vehicle was inside the shop unexposed to the below freezing temperatures. It has been reported to the dealership and inspected by the body shop manager who also acknowledged the problem and cause. Mirrors and vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance representative. There were no warning lamps to indicate an issue. The indication was the function of the mirrors and the positions they would stop at when vehicle is unlocked.

While driving at a speed of around 40 mph on a paved city street in Bozeman, MT, I heard and felt a Super loud clunk in my Chevy engine transmission or drive train.. I immediately stopped to see if something ran into the vehicle. No apparent visual damage of any kind. It felt and sounded like like something jammed within the transmission or drive train. The truck has less than 12k miles and has been babied so far. I love the truck. Oil level is normal and nothing leaking underneath..I took it immediately to Billion GMC in Bozeman. They found nothing wrong however the service manager recounted this regarding another customer who described the exact same issue with the same year vehicle and same transmission: Another GMC owner experienced the same symptom before the transmission seized at highway speed and locked the wheels. Because this presents a potential loss-of-control hazard, I am requesting that Chevrolet open a Technical Assistance Center case, document all diagnostic findings in writing, and determine whether the vehicle is safe to operate before returning it to me. The service manager who recounted this event is named Jay.

While launching a boat. Truck was in park and boat off the trailer. I was out of truck 30' on the dock reaching for boat rope ( was a single person boat launch). I heard a loud pop and the truck went into the lake till it hit the dock. Several witnesses to this story. Glad I didn't have to go behind the truck to undo my boat winch. I would have been killed.

Safety Issue. The raised cruise control speed set button on the steering wheel is prone to being touched when rotating the steering wheel while making sharp turns when driving through parking lots at low speed. If the distance cruise was previously set at say 45 mph the last time it was used, and the set button is very briefly hit upward when rotating the wheel through your hands to the left, it can inadvertently cause the truck to start accelerating to that previously-set speed. The cruise button needs to be programmed such that at certain steering angles it will not respond to inputs. This is very dangerous. I ave had this happen to me at least 5 times. Hitting the brakes stopped the acceleration. I reported it to the dealer as a potential engine surge but they could not reproduce it. I just recently realized what was happening. I believe this can easily be addressed by a steering angle lockout of the button. Other issues: Drivetrain vibrates occasionally and shifts very hard (drivetrain literally slams through gear change) when leaving driving from a stop a slow speeds. Dealer cannot replicate. This diesel truck gets very poor mileage possibly from spending too much time in regeneration mode. Truck is super sensitive to fuel. Mileage varies drastically from fill up to fill up depending upon station. I believe the fuel cetane content affects regeneration in unexpected ways. I buy fuel at name brand stations but mileage varies drastically from vendor to vendor. Mileage average goes down to about 11 mpg much of the time due to time in regeneration. Dealer has no comments. I know HD trucks don't have official mileage ratings but this is just crazy. I drive light on the accelerator. Rarely achieved up to 21 mpg but average mileage runs about 11-12. I believe this to be a fault with these trucks as I have read complaints from many others. The infotainment system frequently loses all audio, including turn signal sound, nav. GM has no fix. Possibly software.

Of If I turn on the truck the air conditioner doesn’t work. It takes around 30 mins to turn on . It’s summer time and I shouldn’t be going through this. It’s hot outside. I’m sweating my butt off.

Radio does not emit sound also canceling all warning noises for fuel level, turn signals, seat belts, open door in motion. This problem is not only a saftey hazard for drivers its a major annoyance. Honestly find it quite distracting. Have reached out to gm multiple times and the issue hasn't been corrected. Really concerned this is going to plage my vehicle its whole life. This issue has happened more times than I can count.

The infotainment system has not worked since day one and the entire dash and everything electrical sometimes malfunctions or doesn't work. The vehicle has been in the shop non stop for 8 months and it has not been fixed and they have said they can't fix it. According to GM they are waiting on another part to replace but the part is on back order with no timetable to get it and the mechanic has said that part won't fix it.

I was driving the truck on my way to work in [XXX] , last March 12, 2026, at around 6:50 am. It was raining when I entered the exit ramp to work going west; the truck died, and the steering wheel locked. I tried to start it, but it wouldn't. The dashboard displayed: 'Trailer Park Brake Failed,' 'Power Steering Pump Needs Service,' and 'Axle Repair Error.' I was on the exit ramp for a highway that runs north and south, and I could have been t-boned; it was still dark. The truck was towed to Curry Chevrolet in Scarsdale. They said it was the ECM and ordered the part. They installed the new ECM module last Tuesday, March 17. The service manager called me and said they tested the truck, but it is still showing active codes. A GM advisor called me saying the truck should be ready for pickup this Friday. However, this afternoon, I got a call from the service manager saying there is another issue—the engine wiring harness—and they will order the part; now it will not be ready until next week. GM owes me my life. I do not want to drive the vehicle. The service department people at Curry Chevrolet are very professional, but did I pay and spend a lot of money for a garbage truck? Engine started pouring fuel out in large quantities coating the entire chassis. I was lucky, I had planned to go fishing early but had boat issue. Had I gone early in the dark it would have been catastrophic. Large amounts of gas. Pouring out. I'm lucky, when moving the truck my wife noticed the fuel was leaving a trail down the road and started screaming. I immediately parked the vehicle and I am waiting on support to get to dealer. The fuel system is a known defect on 2025/2026 Silverado but not yet identified for this HD 2500 with same 6.6l engine. Entire cab is full of gas fumes. This was extremely scary.
