I took it in to have the recall fixed, they told me they couldn't fix it, that I should not drive it, do not let a passenger ride in the front, they are having an issue they haven't encounterd with the other traversese he contacted somone to find out what to do and as soon as they get a letter he will let me know. I asked if it was safe to drive the look on his face was absolutely not, to just park it, and borrow or rent one, I do not have the money to do this, he said that I should be very very careful not to do anything to set off the airbag and only drive it if there is no other option, I made it clear there was not. I have had 5 close calls that could have set it off a few, inches were how close it was the last one someone almost hit me . I have a daughter I have to take to and from school the busses don't come out where we live. I just want it fixed,

Recall is for the airbag and shows no remedy. Dealer has not provided a fix for this recall and is unwilling to repurchase the vehicle at a fair market value.

2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- Cobb, CA
To Whom It May Concern: I received a letter from [XXX] the Vice President of Global Product Safety and Systems of Chevrolet General Motors in June 2023 concerning a safety recall: N232404980 From the letter I received: "General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2014 model year Chevrolet Traverse vehicles. As a result, GM is conducting a safety recall." However, parts to repair my vehicle are not currently available. It is now October 2, 2023. When I called the Customer Service number provided I was directed to Platinum Chevrolet in Santa Rosa to make an appointment to remedy this situation. I was told they still do not have the parts available for the front-driver airbag inflator. I am very concerned about this because I use this vehicle to transport myself and family to and from work and school. In the safety recall letter I received it also states: "In these vehicles, the front-driver airbag inflator may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that may results in inflator rupture deployment. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants." Please let me know how I can get this situation resolved. I need to use this vehicle to provide for my family but I do not want to die from driving a car that I am paying for. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
