2023 CHEVROLET BOLT EUV- Round Lake, IL
When driving and turning, the steering wheel does not come back to center and the car keeps turning after releasing the steering wheel causing the car to veer off the road if not turned back manually. This is very unexpected and an unsuspecting driver might not realize this until too late. I am in the process of contacting the dealer I bought the car from. But, searching the internet it seems to be a know problem.

When I shut off the engine, it says “Shift to park” and the car will not turn off. To get it to turn off, I have to turn the car back on (usually multiple times), until it recognizes that it IS in park.

2026 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Lantana, TX
I just purchased this vehicle on XXX and on XXX, with less than 300 miles on it, we were in a parking garage at the Galleria Mall in [XXX]. While driving slowly uphill in the garage looking for a parking space, the vehicle suddenly went into neutral and the engine shutoff. After verifying all was well, I restarted the truck and continued to drive. It happened two more times with the same situation, low speed going uphill. I have not taken it to a Chevy dealer yet for diagnostic as there were no lights like the check engine light and no codes presented. My onstar app reports that all is well and no issues, so I know it will not be something they can find when they try to pull the codes. I did a search on the internet for this issue and found others with the same problem, no known fix, and in one case the person was able to return the truck and they purchased a different truck from a different manufacturer. That gentleman said he did try to work with GM at the regional level with a service rep. He said something is causing the voltage to drop in lower gears, causing it to invoke a safety feature to stop the vehicle by going into neutral and shutting off the engine. On an incline, with no engine, the brakes become very hard to push and the vehicle could roll back. In a parking garage, that could mean rolling back into a person or another car. When it happens there are in internal codes that do not show up, but are wiped when you re-start. There are threads on Reddit and in Facebook groups that discuss this issue as well for further evidence. My purpose is to get this documented outside of GM, it seems like a niche problem, but one that could be dangerous in the right circumstances. 2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE- Basking Ridge, NJ
When GM announced the recall involving the potential for catastrophic engine failure, I immediately contacted Bridgewater Chevrolet in NJ to schedule the required recall inspection. I was told the dealership could not perform the inspection because it had not yet received the required 'diagnostic tool' from GM. Once they received the equipment, they contacted me and on Oct 1, 2025, they completed the required recall inspection and informed me that my Tahoe had passed the recall inspection and that the vehicle was safe to continue driving. On XXX while driving over the Driscoll Bridge on the [XXX] with my daughter and our dog, the engine catastrophically failed without warning as I began to exit on exit [XXX] to [XXX] into heavy traffic. With no warning, the vehicle flashed that it was in neutral and then suddenly lost all power and stopped completely in a traffic lane, creating an extremely dangerous situation. After a few mins, I was able to get it started briefly, enough to coast along to a spot a few hundred feet away where there was a shoulder. From there the wheels locked and it would not move at all and windows would not open. It had to be dragged completely inoperable with locked wheels onto a flatbed three separate times. It was first dragged and flat bedded off the Parkway to a place we felt unsafe so we stayed locked in the car in July heat with no windows down, then to my mechanic and then to the dealership. I am unsure of the damage that may have caused. The dealership received the vehicle on XXX and within a day told me that it was indeed what my mechanic and they suspected - the catastrophic failure recall they had inspected and passed the vehicle for. As of today, XXX, I was told they just received an engine and can start a full replacement this week. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
