2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN Complaints

Experienced a loss of acceleration and a shuttering/shaking when accelerating. Slight whining noise as well. The check engine light came on and continues to flash.

The transmission pump malfunctioned. It was causing the car to lunge forward while the foot was taken off the break slowly. Had to veer off the road to keep from hitting another car from behind as the car stalled. Waited for about 5 minutes and was able to drive for the same thing to happen again. I ended up having to leave the car and have it towed the next day. The car was inspected by Wayne and Daves who found there was a transmission pump failure. The car was driven to verify and was not able to drive as it continued with the same problem. Dodge Grand Caravans were recalled for that exact reason in 2016 but mine was not, although it was built in December of 2015. 56k miles and transmission needed to be replaced on my 2016 Dodge Caravan. Immediately following my airbag light went on as well as my engine light. There was a recall on certain transmissions built. They need to look into it further.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the driver’s side sliding door was locked and could not be opened from inside or outside the vehicle. Additionally, the door would not open while using the key fob. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer was not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 128,359.

Passenger rear door would not lock and I have been unable to secure my car from theft. I put gorilla tape on the handle to discourage anyone from opening it. Then it started buzzing. My mechanic has "fixed" it twice, and he has it locking for now, but it buzzes EVERY TIME the door locks or unlocks. I am unable to keep spending money on fixing it and now understand that it is a known problem with this vehicle. It needs to be recalled and dealer needs to pay to fix it.

Left side door will not open. Electric door. I have a handicap grandchild and small grandchildren that I will not be able to get to fast enough in case of a fire. And if other door goes out, how will I be able to get them out. ITS A FIRE HAZZARD.

The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet notified of failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

The sliding rear passenger doors have faulty lock actuators. Looked on my forums and tons of people are having the same issues. I had one door actuator replaced a couple years ago. Now my other door actuator is acting up. Dodge will charge $600-$1000 to replace.

Additionally, the vehicle made an abnormal noise while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The sliding doors are not opening. Either by pushing the buttons or trying to hand pull it open. It is completely stuck. To get my kids out of the car, I had to roll windows down and reach in, because they are in car seats.
