2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN- Poplar Grove, IL
Sliding door latch mechanism failed on the right rear passenger door. Part number 68030380AE. The right rear passenger door was locked in the closed position. No amount of effort would open the door. I feel this is a severe safety issue. If there was an accident, especially involving the vehicle catching fire, the passenger would not be able to exit the vehicle. Please help. There should be a manual override for this latch mechanism.

My car started making a loud buzzing sound after starting it up and driving. The sound startled me and I was scared to drive. It stopped so I continued on with my day. Every time I started it up and drove it did the same thing. Finally after getting home and hitting the lock on my remote, it did the same noise locking the car. I realized it is an issue with a motor on the automatic locking mechanism. I don’t know what it means or if it’s a safety issue but it really frightened me because it’s so loud. I don’t have a picture but I do have a video of the noise.

Transmission failed with minimal warning. Getting transmission codes for pressure. There is a recall for transmission pressure but shows my VIN isn't a part of recall. This van has less than 88000 miles. I believe the recall should be expanded. This van was manufactured in the same date range affected.

Vehicle transmission went out in 2022. Checked and it shows known recall for this transmission pump failure for Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016. According to the sticker inside the door, ours was manufactured in March 2016 which was during the recall period. However, our vehicle has not been included in the recall and has been sitting in our driveway for almost 2 years. It needs a new transmission due to the known pump failure issue.

Transmission had to be rebuilt at 153,000. The sliding doors actuators are locked all the time and unlocked all the time, which is a safety hazard for anyone riding in rear seats.

I was driving my van which I have had nothing but trouble with this dodge caravan, go to turn at the intersection and it just shuts off started right back up but starting to turn and it just shut off. Happened twice now, had the battery checked and every thing else seemed good just didn’t know why this happened but it almost got us hot the first time. There are a lot of dodge vans that aren’t included in the S44 recall and our VIN numbers don’t pop up. I mean the air bags are killing people in these dodges now, I’ve had nothing but a hard time with this vehicle. They are unsafe, if I wasn’t poor and could afford a good van and not bottom of the barrel I wouldn’t be dealing with this it seems. But the poor are expendable. I’d rather take my kids in my beat up ford than in my new van. That’s crazy. It’s going to get someone killed if it hasn’t already happened.

Passenger's sliding door will not unlock electronically or manually making an obvious safety hazard for my children Gran children. All other doors are working at this time. Problem started approximately 04/01/24. My research has shown many complaints of this safety hazard for this year/ make/model 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. Should be recalled if not already. Unique.

the head rest deployed without being in an accident and now cannot be re-assembled. This is a recurrent problem with Chrysler vehicles including the Grand Caravan.
