2019 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

I was driving at 60mph when the truck started shaking so bad I had to come to a complete stop. I could barley steer the truck when this was happening.

Ford Death Wobble Complaint We experienced the Ford - F250 'death wobble' twice while driving on the highway at speed around 75 mph. The first time it happened on 07/05/2024 and the second incident happened on 07/13/2024. In both cases we were on the highway driving around 73-75 mph, straight ahead, without any turns. The road was dry and there were no other driving issues. All of a sudden, the truck steering wheel started shaking violently and the whole truck went into uncontrollable vibrations, during which the truck was impossible to steer. The first time the vibrations lasted about 20-30 seconds, the second time was longer, around 40-50 seconds. We were at an incredible risk of an accident and death. I am a very experienced driver. We were extremely lucky that the traffic was light and I managed to let go of the gas, let the truck reduce the speed slowly and then slightly tapped on the break until complete stop. Had we had heavier traffic, turns on the road, or a more unexperienced driver, this could have led to a fatal accident. The truck in 2019 and has around 118K miles. The tires are in excellent condition and the tire pressure was correct. The problem is well known and widely discussed and reported as the ‘Ford Death Wobble.’ There were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the occurrence. There is no active recall for this, although is it a life-threatening issue.

Front end uncontroable wobble from the front end. causing swearving and lane departure. causes uncontroable driving until under 30 MPH.

a/c blower fan blowing irregular cutting out and returning to blow. eventually stopped and replaced the blower, still not working. took to local mechanic pressed on fuses and relays and blower worked for a day. took to another shop to get second opinion and to repair issue. same thing checked fuses and said vehicle was working as planed. 1 day later same issue no air. returned to same shop to re investigate issue, claimed wiring harness and fuse box under hood to be replaced. (remove dash, remove freon, flush system, refill with freon, run wiring around front of engine compartment, reinstall all the above for 6k) all of this for a melted fuse (#43) and a possible burnt wire. if new harness is same gauged wiring, then what is stop from another burning issue? picked up truck for another opinion to repairing or replacing harness. at this time still no air and worried it may start a fire from burning again.

My vehicle caught on fire. I had been pulling my trailer and I pulled over to park when my truck began smoking. I attempted to open the hood and the truck was on fire. None of the sensors activated and I didn’t have any indication the truck was overheating.

Was traveling down freeway at 70 mph when truck hit a bump and got severe death wobble from the front end. Brought truck into ford dealer and determined steering wheel dampener was bad and replaced under warranty which Ford extended due to known issue. No warning lamps or prior issue before that day. Almost crashed due to known issue with child in truck.

I was driving my truck with no prior issues nor check engine light warnings, suddenly my truck began to lose speed, warning light came on instrument panel stating something to the effect of reduced power, I heard a loud noise (similar to the sound of a tire blown), as I looked out of the drivers side window I observed flames coming from the left front fender well. I was able to pull out of traffic coasting off into the median. Once in the median My wife and myself had to evacuate the truck immediately for our own safety. the engine compartment was rapidly becoming fully involved with fire. Attempted to extinguish fire with three fire extinguishers, called 911 and waited on fire department to arrive. My truck is now a total lose, I have read that your department has received similar issues that I have described.I felt it necessary to report my issue to hopefully help resolve this issue with Ford trucks.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was concerned that the water intrusion might cause internal corrosion to some electrical components. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the steering wheel became very hard to turn. The contact stated that the steering was turned to the right prior to the steering wheel seizing. The contact stated that the wheels failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over, turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle regained several steering wheel functionalities. The contact stated that the steering wheel was not fully functional and was abnormally difficult to turn however, the wheel was able to be turned. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
