2019 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

Driving at 50 mph+, I have experienced a violent wobble in the truck that can only be stopped by coming to a complete stop with my truck. this has happened multiple times. I have read up on this and it seems to be called the “death wobble” and can not be fixed. I have had a baby and another small child in the truck with me at one of the occurrences. This wobble causes me to almost lose control over the vehicle. Is there a recall I am unaware of for the suspension and steering? I have read that customers have tried to fix the issues and have not been able to. My family uses this truck often as we don’t have another option at the moment. Any sudden jolt to the front passenger side wheel causes the truck to do the death wobble. It happened 3 times yesterday (12/31/23) within a 1 hour time frame. The only way to stop it is to let the truck gradually come to a stop and then start back again. The whole truck jumps and the steering wheels shakes uncontrollably.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. The message "Mass Air Flow Sensor" was displayed. Additionally, the contact stated that he smelled a burning odor and noticed that black smoke was coming from underneath the hood. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hose had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the CAC hose was replaced a second time; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

I have now experienced the Ford Death Wobble two different times driving at high rates of speed 70-75mph that has almost caused serious accidents on state i75 and I10 in Florida. My family was in the truck and I was able to save it from hitting the guard rail.

Steering and suspension were compromised at highway speeds upon hitting a mild change in surface (such as a bridge expansion joint). The front axle bounces and shakes violently and steering is extremely difficult. Reducing speed (below highway speed while on a highway in traffic) eventually ends the violent shaking and bouncing. This problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center nor has it been inspected by others. There were also no warning lamps or messages.

The vehicle will not start. There will be times that it will start nicely but we are unsure on when the next failed start will be. When turning the key in the ignition it will just light up the dashboard and radio but will not turn over or start. Sometimes we are able to get it to start after a few tries, other times is has taken us an entire day to get it to start. Not very reliable since we purchased this vehicle for pulling a camping trailer and we are afraid that it will leave us stranded. Some research has indicated that maybe the circuit board is bad, but i have seen no recalls or anything specific coming from Ford Company. Last occurrence was Thanksgiving Day when we were visiting family out of town!!

The contact noticed that the heated seat module was melting at the wiring harness. The contact stated that the wiring harness was burned at the plug. The P/N: GU5T-14B663-AA. The TPMS, low-windshield fluid, and oil change warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the repairs was at his expense. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the rear sliding window was leaking. The contact noticed that the carpet was wet. The water was leaking into the wiring harness. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear window was faulty. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Center Motor Company Service (825 Hurst St, Center, TX 75935) where it was diagnosed that the window was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON THE INTERSTATE THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN SHAKING SO HARD THAT I HAD DIFFICULTY HOLDING ONTO IT. THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF CONTROL AND I ALMOST WENT INTO THE GUARD RAIL BEFORE I COULD SLOW DOWN TO A STOP AND BRING THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL. I MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION AND LOOKED AT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRUCK AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING BROKEN. ON THE WAY BACK HOME, THE TRUCK DID THE SAME THING AGAIN AFTER HITTING A BUMP AND I HAD TO STOP AGAIN TO GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO STOP SHAKING - WHICH WAS VERY CONCERNING BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC I WAS IN. THERE WAS NO WARNING EITHER TIME THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW!
