2020 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

BUSHING SLIDING DOWN THE CDF CLUTCH HUB CAUSING FLUID PRESSURE TO BLEED BY ON SEALING RING CAUSING MULTIPLY/POTENTIAL PROBLEMS. VECHILE WAS INSPECTED BY FORD AFTER GOING IN FOR A RECALL THAT WAS ALREADY ON THE TRANSMITION DUE TO THE PLANETARY 4 ASSEMBLY AND THIS PROBLEM WAS FOUND. THE RECALL DIDN'T FAIL THIS PART DID AND PUT DEBRIS THROUGHOUT THE TRANSMITION. WHEN TAKEN IN, IT HAD A HARD SHIFT WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PUTTING IT IN GEAR. TRUCK HAS 98,500 MILES, BUT HAD BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT 5 TO 6 MONTHS. FORD REQUIRED US TO DROP OF THE TRUCK FOR 4 TO 6 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. WE COULDN'T MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL.

The Tail lights only take 30 to 45 seconds to steal and cost between $3,500.00 to $4,200.00 to buy plus install and coding. They are in shortage according to local Ford dealer because of the thefts. So, you have to go out to Facebook Market Place and buy your lights back from a host of characters reselling these lights. The consumers are out a lot of money and time dealing with , body shop, insurance company, and a host of characters. It's the next Ford part theft ring that cost folks money they cannot spare ....This is BS Ford Motor and Dealers!!!!!. The thieves easily bypass the alarm because of Ford's design that allows tailgate to be open from inside after easily removing inspection cover (4 screws) and remove the lights in 30 seconds (two screws per tail light). The theft of the Tail Lights makes the truck undriveable. The Ford Light Theft is so bad that there are a shortage of lights and Body Shop long lead-times if you try and order and install through Ford Body Shop. Could be all corrected if factory alarm would go off when tail gate drops after being set and using $10.00 worth of anti theft screws. Ford is not notifying F150/f250 customers when they know this is happening. Cost to consumer $4,500 to $5,000.00 and months of waiting for your truck. The thieves are advertising the lights on Facebook Market Place and E-Bay Motors. * This is a circus that Ford can stop by fixing a alarm system and using anti thief fasteners. The truck slips out of gear for no reason, suffers very hard shifts causing the truck to jerk, and skips gears making it impossible to drive safely. Also, I lost power on the freeway several times and the truck would up shift and down shift erratically causing issues maintaining speed in traffic. I took the truck to the Ford dealer and was told I needed a new transmission. Ford has issued a recall for the Diesel truck with this transmission but refuses to repair other trucks with the same faulty transmission. This truck costs almost $60,000 new, was built in January 2020 with a faulty and dangerous transmission but ford is refusing to help their customers.

Electronic tailgate release has stopped working in a similar manner as my 2018 F150 which was recalled.

Transmission failed after 106k miles, incurring $7k of repair costs. The failure caused the vehicle to seriously hesitate and could have resulted in an unexpected slow down while driving. There was no warning ahead of time outside slight hesitation on accelerating which my auto repair shop determined was spark plug related. Then suddenly when driving my son home from a friends house the check engine light came on and hesitation was significant on 12/23/23. There are several bulletins regarding the 10 speed transmission in Ford Trucks and Expeditions, I've owned several Ford Trucks in the past and never had a transmission fail after 100k miles, conveniently after the warranty. These trucks should go 150-200k before having major mechanical issues. Ford will not recognize the issue and do the right thing ie: a full recall.

Driving on the interstate at speed limit after hitting a bump the driving straight the truck began to shake or ocellate violently to the point I did not have full control of the vehicle. Almost forced me off the pavement. THis is a known problem known by Ford but they are not going to recall it becuse no one has died YET! Mirrors are extending out while driving and will not return. Causing unsafe driving conditions.

The contact stated that the failure diminished while decelerating. The contact was able to continue driving. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the failure recurred increasingly. The contact stated that the failure decreased while decelerating, and he was able to continue driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
