2020 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V087000 (Structure, Power Train) and 22V25000 (Visibility) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issues. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I have been experiencing a light oscillation of the steering wheel when hitting expansion joints and bumps in the road at highway speeds (50-75 MPH). Today when I hit the same expansion joint/ bump, my steering wheel oscillated violently, the truck shook violently and the brakes were not very effective in slowing the truck. This lasted about 3 to 5 seconds. I was travelling about 70 MPH when this occurred and I did not see the speed where it stopped as I was a bit shaken up.

After hitting a bump/pothole on the road a violent shaking took place throughout the vehicle, the steering wheel shook violently. I was able to slow down to approximately 10mph and the vibration stopped. I then continued on my journey. It happened another 5 times. This happened in a construction zone with no where to pull off. Through sheer strength I was able to control the truck, but vehicles behind me had to slow down as well. No inspection done as yet, vehicle going to dealer on 03/07/2022. Online reports of something similar called "death wobble". No inspection by police or insurance. No warnings or warning messages etc.

The contact's husband owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while her husband was at a stop sign, the transmission seized in 2nd gear and the vehicle failed to respond while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact's husband stated that the check engine warning light illuminated and "wrench" symbol was displayed on the instrument panel. On another occasion, the transmission seized in 7th gear and the vehicle was unable to make it up an overpass. The vehicle inadvertently started to roll back down the overpass. The contact's husband also had alerts on the Ford Pass monitoring tool and received a “failure with PCM and 2nd gear bypassing during cycle" alerts on his cell phone. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

While traveling down highway 65-70 mph. after hitting bumps in road my truck started shaking& shimmering wildly. While holding on to steering strongly, slowed down, pulled over and it finally quit. I heard of earlier Ford trucks having problems like this. They called it the Death Wobble!!! I thought problem had been solved by Ford, but this has happend two times to me recently. Have not heard of anyone with newer trucks having problem like this. My truck is 2020 Ford F-250. What do I need to do to solve problem. Thanks

Going down road cruise set in a 4 lane heavy traffic my truck dies like a light comes on and cars are bumper to bumper I’m trying to pull over my children are in the vehicle they go to crying scared finally I got half way off the road and got out and with few good peoples help pushed it out of the road I switched on and off the truck I could hear the pump near the tank making all kinds of noises I new then my fuel pump had went out

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated all the door latches were frozen and failed to keep the doors securely closed. The contact stated that the door ajar warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing all door latches to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Communications: 18N03 and FSA17S33; however, the dealer stated that the vehicle did not qualify for repairs due to the mileage. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph on the highway, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle went into limp mode causing the speed to suddenly reduce to 30 MPH. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to an engine software update. A software update was performed but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the NOX sensor was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that an engineer would be sent to examine the vehicle. No further information was available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 72,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250 equipped with Cooper tires, Tire Line: Discoverer M+S, Tire Size: LT275/55/R20, DOT Number: UTOTXNR2716D13L. The contact stated while her husband was driving and towing a 17-foot RV, while making a right turn, the vehicle began vibrating. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The driver continued driving to a nearby gas station and noticed that the rear driver’s side tire had a bump on the outer side of the tire. The driver decided to continue driving the vehicle to his destination with the faulty tire. The contact stated that her husband drove the vehicle to a tire shop and had all the tires inspected. The tire shop replaced both rear tires. The contact stated on 1/15/2022, while her husband was driving 40 MPH and towing the 17-foot RV, the vehicle experienced the vibration again. The driver continued driving to his destination with a faulty front driver’s side tire. The contact stated on 1/17/2022, her husband drove the vehicle to another tire shop and had all the tires inspected. The tire shop replaced both front tires. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19T005000 (Tires) however, the tire line was not included. The tire manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I have had several incidents when driving at night that I keep getting flashed by other drivers thinking my truck head lights are on high beam. I see there is a recall for other year models for the DRL is not dimming when the low beams are on. I am thinking this is happening to this truck. I am going to have ford look at it but they are just going to check light alignment.
