2016 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

I placed my truck in Park, exited the vehicle to assist my daughter to the truck. As we approached the front of the truck - the truck started Rolling forward. I tried to enter the driver side door to stop the vehicle but realized my truck was going to collide with the vehicle next to it and I tried to clear my body of the two vehicles. I was caught between the two vehicles near the rear driver side fender and couldn't free myself. My daughter entered the truck from the passenger side and the truck had went from Park to Drive. My daughter put the truck in Park and somehow I was able to free myself. I received injuries to my hip and pelvic area. The entire incident was recorded on a home surveillance system.

Def pump or def heater there was a recall on this when I called about the air bag recall they told me that there was one now they say there isn’t one now and something wrong with 4x4 sleeping or might be transmission bought extended warranty 2 times on pickup just need it fixed thank you

The owner stated that there was a rattling sound coming from the vehicle while driving at various speeds. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware that the body mount was deteriorating. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was waiting for an appointment with the local dealer. The manufacture was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 48,194.

The truck shakes violently after hitting a bump in the road. I have had new Michelin tires installed (by Discount Tires) and balanced twice, and the front end and alignment checked (by Leonard's Truck & Frame Service), both located in Lake City, FL. I think the problem is what is commonly referred to as F250 "Death Wobble".

While driving on the 215 (Southern California) freeway at approximately 70 miles per hour and without warning I experienced a sever wobble in the front end of the truck. it was so bad I had to pull over on the shoulder of the freeway. I was lucky traffic was light and could do this safely. I took the truck to a mechanic that specializes in ford trucks, and he recommended several components be replaced. He stated this is a common problem with Ford F250 and F350 trucks. He mentioned that this was known as the "Death Wobble." The truck has approximately 60 thousand miles on it.

The contact stated that the dealer had not provided any diagnostic information. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V337000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair would not be available for 4 years. Additionally, the manufacturer declined to buy back the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The bushing on the cable that holds the transmission gear selector cable to to the transmission gear selector bracket on the transmission housing broke and left the truck unable to be shifted in or out of gear using the lever on the steering column. The only way to move the vehicle was to crawl under the vehicle and manually move the gear shift selector to the desired gear. I was able to drive it to a Ford dealer for immediate repair. There were no warning signs and the truck was operating with no problems/issues prior to this incident. The truck is a 2016 model and I am the original owner. The truck had 62982 miles on it when the incident occurred. I feel this is a safety issue because this would prevent the vehicle from being put in park if it broke when being put in drive and could cause the vehicle to roll into something or onto someone

My truck has developed what is colloquially called a death wobble. The truck shakes wildly and aggressively when hitting a bump. It happens most frequently when crossing the transition from roadway to bridge. But it can occure from a bump in the roadway. When it occurs I have no control. I have paid to replace the steering damper That did not alleviate the problem. My truck is a 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty. This wobble has occurred several times. To date, except for the initial occurrence, this has only occurred on interstate highways at regular highway sppeds depending on the particular state speed limit. The initial event occurred on a state highway in Colorado while negotiaing a sweeping left curve. Thereafter, it has only occurred on interstate highways. Speeds have alwasy been 60mph or above, depending on speed limits and trafic conditions.

The vehicle was parked and restarted when it locked itself into idle mode and would not move. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the reduction heater needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000

The "death wobble" occurred as my wife and I were driving on I-70 at approximately 75 MPH. We were maybe 100 miles west of Salina and fortunately there were not any vehicles around us, but we were forced to immediately pull over to the emergency lane. We just hit a bump and all of a sudden, this violent shaking started to occur. This incident happened around 10:00 am on September 30, 2023.
