2019 FORD F-350 SD Complaints

While driving at highway speeds hit slight transition in road and vehicle steering shakes uncontrollably to the point of extreme danger. Slow down to a stop thinking blown out tire or something snapped in front end. No signs of physical damage. try to limp home find condition is no longer present. It has happened two more times since then with passengers in vehicle on busy roads. Extreme danger situation Ford Can not get it in for diagnosis for 2 weeks.

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED AND I HIT ANY BUMPS IN THE ROAD CAUSES THE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THE FRONT WHEELS TO HOP. FEELS LIKE THE TRUCK IS OUT OF CONTROL. I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 10 MPH BEFORE I CAN GAIN CONTROL AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS HAPPENS ON THE INTERSTATE AND HAVE TO COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW AND HAS GOTTEN SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE. DEALER LOOKED AT MY TRUCK AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE TRUCK AND I HAVE LESS THAN 13,000 MILES! I FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING MY FORD F350 LET ALONE TOWING ANYTHING WITH THIS JUNK. VERY DISAPPOINTING FORD MOTOR COMPANY HASN'T ADDRESSED THIS ONGOING PROBLEM. I HAVE PURCHASED SERVERAL SUPER DUTIES AND THIS HAS BEEN MY WORST EXPERIENCE. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!

Death Wobble is a consistent problem, tried changing the steering damper several times, the actual problem is in the linkage and suspension. Truck was shaking so violently I almost killed someone on the highway. Ford is aware of this problem and has taken no action.

The vehicle is experiencing a very violent shaking/wobble after hitting a bridge seam or railroad tracks at higher speeds. The violent shaking does not stop until speed is reduced significantly (<40-50 mph). This could be very dangerous in certain situations such as heavy traffic, in a curve, or while towing. The shaking is so violent it certainly puts significant stress on steering components and could eventually cause catastrophic failure and complete loss of steering and control at interstate speed. A brief internet search indicates there are numerous others with this same situation. This truck design has evidently had this issue for many model years. This type of issue should not be occurring to vehicles that are relatively new.

OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS OF TRAVEL - APPROXIMATELY 3000 MILES - THIS F350 EXPERIENCED A VIOLENT SHIMMY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (CRUISING BETWEEN 55 - 68MPH - MAX) SEVEN SEPARATE TIMES, WITH THE LAST 4 EVENTS OCCURRING 11/9/2021 IN IMMEDIATE SUCCESSION (WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER) WHEN LEAVING KINGMAN AZ - HEADING WEST ON I40. EACH TIME THIS VIOLENT SHIMMY SEEMED TO BE PRECIPITATED BY RUNNING OVER ROUGH SECTIONS OF ROAD OR BRIDGE TRANSITIONS, THIS VIOLENT SHIMMY COULD ONLY BE CLEARED BY SLOWING TO APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE PICKUP TRUCK WAS FULLY LOADED, CLOSE TO THE GVWR. INTERNET RESEARCH OF THIS PROBLEM HAS LED ME TO BELIEVE IT IS A KNOWN PHENOMENA AMONG FORD F350 & F250 OWNERS CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE". VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, THINK ABOUT IT, HAVING TO SLOW TO 25 MPH FROM FREEWAY SPEEDS ATTEMPTING TO GET INTO EITHER THE SLOW LANE OR SHOULDER - EVENTUALLY AN ACCIDENT WILL HAPPEN IF THIS "DEATH WOBBLE" IS NOT RESOLVED. I'VE REPORTED THIS SITUATION TO MY JIM BURKE FORD LOCAL DEALER HERE IN BAKERSFIELD CA (WHERE I PURCHASED THE PICKUP) AND HAVE SCHEDULE INVESTIGATION AND HOPEFULLY REPAIR ON 6 DECEMBER.

While driving 55 mph on a paved highway, I encountered a slight “bump” in a curve. When I traveled over the bump, the steering wheel was yanked out of my hands with an excessive shaking as well as the bed of my truck was fishtailing in the curve that caused me to cross over into oncoming traffic. I took my truck to the dealership where I purchased it and according to the invoice, several components were replaced. It did well for about 3 months and is still an issue today, it seems to get worse as we go.

My truck started violently shaking after going over a groove in the road. Has happened about 3 times. Ford dealership said that they can't get me in until November 10th.

I hit a small groove in the road and the truck went into death wobble. I was going about 45 to 50 miles an hour and had to completely stop for the death wobble to quit.

Traveling down interstate and crossed a bridge that was bumpy and my front end was like my tires were bouncing like a basketball. I thought the front end was coming out from under it and slammed on brakes and started pulling to side of road. After inspecting tires and lugs, I saw nothing wrong and decided to try driving again. As speed increased, there was no problem and eventually got back to speed with no bouncing. Happened again later and I carried truck to Ford dealership. They replaced the steering wheel linkage damper at no charge. The problem was better but not fixed. I carried truck back and they replaced the front suspension tie and charged me $534.37 saying it was not their problem. I disagree.

Our truck begins shaking violently while driving down the highway. This has happened 3 times on the last 5 weeks. It appears to be brought on randomly by normal road “bumps” the violent shaking begins and we cannot regain control until we come to a stop. This las time, We’re on the highway surrounded by passenger vehicles and professional trucks when it began and we needed to stop to make the shaking stop and could not get over. This is going to cause major accidents for anyone around us. This is a 2019 vehicle and we service it regularly, last time being 8/26/21. These three incidences occurred on 9/8/21, 10/7/21 & 10/13/21 This needs to be recalled! It’s very dangerous, we lose control and feels like the truck is going to split in two and drop.
