2016 FORD F-350 SD Complaints

For years my truck starts vibrating excessively, shaking the entire vehicle when driving over certain sections of roadway or bumps. Sometimes, my steering is difficult to maintain when this happens. This occurs at speeds around 50 mph+. I always assumed it was just a bad road section and never pursued any repair as I didn't think it was a truck issue. Recently, I have come across some articles, that described my exact situation/condition when driving my truck. It makes me have to slow way down below the speed limit for the violent shaking to stop. Sometimes, I though it was just my stiff suspension on bad roads. It is being called the Ford Death Wobble and affects many Ford Super Duty Trucks. Who knows what other components of my truck have been unduly affected due to this manufacturer's safety issue with my truck and that appears to be a situation that occurs often with other Ford Super Duty trucks. I'm concerned one day it will cause me to lose control and crash or crash into another vehicle. To my knowledge Ford has not issued any recall's regarding these safety problems. My truck has been to the Ford shops many times but nothing addressed regarding this condition. It has occurred so many times, I can not even count, well over hundreds of times over 8 years. The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel pump and metal shavings inside the fuel system. The contact was informed that the fuel system and injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

THERE ARE TWO INCIDENTS ONE FORD DIESEL HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP DISINTERGRATES WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AND THE INTERCOOLER HOSE WHICH IS PLASTIC BLOWS UP WHICH IN BOTH CASES CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND STOP RUNNING. THIS OCCURED TO ME WHILE PULLING RV ON INTERSTATE .

I have had a recurring problem with the so-called "death wobble" whereby the vehicle starts to shake violently when hitting certain bumps above about 50 mph and cannot be brought back under control without completely coming to a stop. I've had the front end components, including tie rods, stabilizers, drag link, etc completely replaced THREE TIMES and within a year of normal driving it comes back. It has always been repaired at a Ford service center. It happens without warning, though I've learned now how the vehicle feels when the front end starts getting loose so I can have it repaired before it becomes dangerous.

Airbags are not faulty if you look at sticker they have warning due to old age the plastic becomes brittle and can cause fragments to impale driver only way to prevent this is not replace the airbag but to cover with duct tape, this recall needs to be updated Takata is not responsible, they operate as designed as I said the air bag fill with high pressure air and in older cars will crack plastic cover. Please update this recall this is not a manufacturer error.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the A/C unit turned off without being disengaged. The tire pressure warning light flashed on the instrument panel. Additionally, the indicator lights were blinking quickly, and trailer turn light failed to illuminate properly and there was a delay when the trailer was connected. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brain control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission was shifting hard and was slipping. Additionally, the vehicle was shuddering while the transmission was shifting. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was unavailable.

At 55,000 miles torque converter locked up. Very difficult to stop vehicle due to excessive rpm’s. Ford has had problems with this and due to being out of year warranty..will not repair

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the "Engine Power Reduced" message was displayed and the vehicle downshifted while running very rough before the vehicle stalled. The contact coasted to the side of the road and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and caused metal fragments to enter the fuel system. The contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.

When driving this vehicle, it will suddenly go into a violent shake. I have to slow the truck down and pull over to a stop to make it stop shaking - it will not drive through it. It will do it 8 times out of 10 driving it. The steering becomes difficult to handle. All I can do to stop it is pull over. It has done it several times between 1 August and 19 November.
