2019 FORD F-350 SD Complaints

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, it was discovered that the air pressure in all four tires were consistently decreasing; the contact also noticed corrosion around the rims and valve stems on each wheel. The low tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to a dealer but not diagnosed; however, the contact was informed that the dealer would replace the current tires with new tires to monitor the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact was constantly adding air to the tires before driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

My truck has only 13000 miles on it. We were going on vacation pulling our camper. I was doing about 63 MPH when we hit a bump in the interstate and the truck started VIOLENTLY shaking out of control. They cal it the death wobble. After doing some research it seams to be a very common problem that ford will not fully address. They put a bandage over a serious issue. They put me, my family and others in very serious danger. It took everything I had to keep us from going in the ditch. A vehicle with only 13000 miles on it should not experience something like this.

In June 2024, I experienced serious sustained steering wheel oscillation to the point of having to stop the vehicle while traveling over 70 mph to regain control before proceeding on my way. I scheduled an appointment with my dealer (Woody Anderson Ford, Huntsville, AL) after July 4th weekend and was assigned an appointment date of August 9, 2024 at 10:00am. In May 2024, after traveling about 47 mph over a semi-diagonal railroad tracks on level pavement, the steering became violent but was recoverable after reducing speed to under 20 mph. This was the second instance. In March 2024, after transitioning across a section of highway in town at about +/- 45 mph, which the highway had appeared to have been poorly repaired my steering began to oscillate but I was able to recover with no concern. This was the first instance.

Additionally, the contact stated that while raining or washing the vehicle, there was water entering the headlight enclosures and the headlights became inoperable. While the vehicle was in park(P), the interior lights turned on without driver input, and turned off while shifted into reverse(R). There was no notification from Ford Pass. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that there were no open recalls but diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the reduced engine power and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle lost motive power. In addition, the contact noticed white smoke and diesel odor entering the interior of the vehicle. The contact parked the vehicle and noticed diesel fluid pouring out onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a cracked fuel filter. The contact was informed that the fuel filter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously serviced by an independent mechanic and the fuel filter was replaced several days before the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the new fuel filter had only 600 miles before the failure occurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

When you drive this truck for extended periods of time the entire instrument cluster shuts off loosing blinkers lights and any indication of speed, among that if you're towing a trailer the trailer lights shut off, ford has tried fixing it under warranty to no avail, now the truck is out of warranty and the issue is getting worse and they're not sure what's wrong. The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal clanking sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine and turbocharger had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 87,000.

truck showed alert of decreased power twice withing a month. When taken into Ford they sated the fuel pressure pump and fuel rail were damaged due to pump sending metal shaving throughout the fuel system. I have found out through research that this is a common occurrence due to a faulty pump that was originally installed in the trucks around these dates. No recall or alert has been given to owner buying these vehicles and now requires a very expensive repair to correct (with a whole different type of pump) and avoid future issues.

My vehicle constantly experiences the death wobble meaning front end suspension experiences violent shaking making it difficult to stay the course and won't stop till vehicle comes to a lower speed but imagine I'm going 75 it takes along time to slow down and very scary

While on a ramp to merge onto a highway, slightly downhill, a small ripple in the pavement joint caused the front wheels and steering wheel to shake violently and nearly lost control of the vehicle. Was traveling at approximately 40-50mph and could not steer the truck and the out of control shaking did not stop until I was able to slow to maybe 5-10mph. I was towing a trailer and if I had not been on a wide roadway late at night, going straight with little traffic around me, it's very likely I would have had a serious accident. The truck has 40,000 miles on it and tires etc are in good condition as this is a federal government owned and maintained vehicle. I see no recalls or service bulletins for the vin, but found hundreds of complaints online of the exact situation and referred to as out of control "death wobble". This is a serious issue and people will very likely be in serious and fatal accidents if not already.
