2024 GMC YUKON- Huntington, WV
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at approximately 45–50 MPH, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The driver pulled over to the side of the road, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it remained for five weeks before being diagnosed. The dealer determined that the engine was blown and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Action Number: EA25007 (Engine, Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 63,073.

2024 GMC YUKON- Wichita, KS
This is a supplemental report to my original complaint (NHTSA ID XXX) regarding my 2024 GMC Yukon (VIN [XXX]). I am providing additional detail: prior to GM's recall being issued, I contacted Hatchett Buick GMC by phone and visited in person on multiple occasions reporting engine sputtering, stalling, hesitation, and total loss of power and electrical shutdown while driving. I was repeatedly told these were minor issues not affecting anyone and not to worry about them. As a result, the vehicle was not formally serviced for these issues until September 2025 — roughly three months after the recall was finally announced, more than a year after I purchased the vehicle. Since that recall repair and a subsequent "best guess" repair performed by GM technicians (their own description, not mine), the vehicle continues to sputter, hesitate, stall, and intermittently lose power. 2024 GMC YUKON- BELLEVILLE, IL
The 6.2 GMC engine has been replaced. I took my Yukon in for a oil change, on the second engine, the tech said that it now has a new oil synthetic 0-40, and I have to have the oil changed every 3 thousand miles. I checked with a couple of mechanics and they all said, synthetic is good for at least 5 thousand miles, and just thicker oil will not solve the engine problems that have plagued GM. I am bringing this to your attention as these vehicles are pretty much worthless in the marketplace, and as such GM should refund or exchange for the 2027, with the new motors.

2024 GMC YUKON- ABILENE, TX
The engine began knocking on startup and on acceleration. The vehicle would sometimes have difficulty accelerating. Upon taking it to the dealership, they were able to duplicate the issue. Upon inspection by the dealership, 2 rod bearings had spun and caused crankshaft damage. The manufacturer approved a full engine replacement under the warranty. There were no warnings lights, messages, or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the first incident.

On the freeway in the middle of nowhere Denali jerked, went into neutral, and stopped completely. Needed to get towed and it was complete engine failure. Dealership needed to completely replace engine and radiator

2024 GMC YUKON- Eureka, MO
I have a 2024 GMC Yukon Denali equipped with the 6.2L L87 V8 engine. The vehicle has approximately 23,000 miles. The vehicle previously underwent the remedy associated with the L87 engine recall. The engine now uses SAE 0W-40 dexos R oil and has the corresponding 0W-40 oil fill cap. After the recall remedy was performed, the check-engine warning light began intermittently FLASHING while I am driving. The light may flash for a period of time and then turn off again. I have also intermittently experienced the engine running rough or the vehicle shaking while idling. I have noticed the flashing warning light occurring while the engine is under load, including while driving uphill. I have video documenting the check-engine light flashing while the vehicle is being driven. Because the condition is intermittent, the warning light is not necessarily illuminated afterward. I am concerned because this vehicle is equipped with the L87 engine that was subject to GM recall N252494000/NHTSA Recall 25V-274 for potential engine damage/failure, and my vehicle appears to have already received the recall remedy. I understand NHTSA is currently investigating reports of L87 engine failures occurring after completion of that recall remedy. The cause of my vehicle's current symptoms is UNKNOWN and has not yet been diagnosed. The vehicle is available for inspection. I am filing this complaint because an intermittently flashing check-engine warning, rough/shaking operation, and the possibility of an engine malfunction or loss of propulsion present a safety concern, particularly if an engine failure occurs while the vehicle is being driven. I do have an appointment with a different GMC dealership for next week instead of the GMC dealership that sold it to me and preformed the original fix.

2024 GMC YUKON XL- Kunkletown, PA
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), the contact was informed that the vehicle passed the inspection and no repair was needed. However, the vehicle experienced engine failure approximately seven months later. While driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The driver pulled over, restarted the vehicle, and resumed normal driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer the following morning, where the Electronic Control Module was replaced under warranty; however, the failure recurred while driving 70 MPH three weeks later. No warning light was illuminated. The driver pulled over, restarted the vehicle, and resumed driving; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH and shut off. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine, radiator and seal kit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact was concerned that the recall remedy failed to prevent the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a buyback was requested, but the request was denied, and the contact was referred to the dealer for additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 27,800.

2024 GMC YUKON- Spokane, WA
On August 6, 2026, I was driving my family up to Whitefish Mountain Resort (a steep mountain road to a ski resort) for dinner when the ESC warning and "Brake System Failure" warning appeared. I immediately attempted to pull safely to the side of the road. When I pressed the brake pedal, the vehicle did not respond normally. I pushed the brake pedal as far down as I could and had essentially no braking ability. Because we were traveling uphill, the vehicle eventually rolled to a stop. When my brother came with his car he had a vehicle scanning tool. He hooked my vehicle up to it and the tool displayed diagnostic codes P25A2 and P3499. This was an extremely serious safety event. Had we been traveling downhill, approaching an intersection, or driving in heavier traffic, the outcome could have been catastrophic.

2024 GMC YUKON XL- Atlanta, GA
Driving on highway, engine stopped while driving 70+ mph. Had to get to the side of the multilane highway. Was towed to nearest GMC dealership. Dealer said the engine was locked up, and they have many vehicles right now with similar problems. They will have to replace the engine due to complete engine failure.
