2024 GMC SIERRA 1500- Bruceton, TN
My engine makes a rattling noise intermittently, misses, and surges. The transmission has shuddered and shifts hard randomly. The transmission has stayed at 2-plus rpm for well over two minutes. All this happens at random times. I have shown videos to my dealership, which did no good because they couldn't replicate it. I have had GM's so-called fix with changing the oil and software updates, which still haven't fixed any of my issues. I've been in contact with the main GM over these issues, and no one has seemed to care. They did scan the vehicle, and the only code it showed was a loss of signal to the transmission control module, which I assume fixed itself, because they did nothing further.

Engine lost power, making noises that sounded like an exhaust leak. Had vehicle towed to dealership. Advised the next day the main bearing had failed and engine needed to be replaced.

The engine temperature gauge was reading cold when driving for 40 minutes and the fan was running on high. Also said steering assist reduced. Brought it in and had to replace the thermostat, because of the code they received. That fixed the issue.

2023 GMC SIERRA 1500- WILTON, CA
While entering the freeway at approximately 45 MPH not towing the rear wheels locked for a second, truck went into the Limp mood, and dash said reduce speed, service transmission. Dealer pulled codes, P0700 and P0747...the order says cause document #6998510."replace spacer plate, check balls and valve." Correction: DTC P0747 set Dealer told me the put the new updated valve in but I don't see that on the repair order? I asked about the GM extended warranty ( I think it's 10 years, 150,000 miles). they said it didn't apply to my vehicle?

2018 GMC YUKON- Bloomfield Hills, MI
The 2018 Yukon Denali has been at the dealership for 7 weeks waiting for a valve body for the transmission. There are valve body recalls for other year GM vehicles with the same transmission, but not for the 2018 model even though it appears to be the same part number. The transmission was already replaced on this vehicle at 500 miles.

2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- douglas, AZ
The motor stoped working 6.2. Left me stranded in the middle of the road. No warning, the engine just gave up and stopped working. As well as the grill flying away and breaking my windshield, this happened last year in february while driving 75 mph.

2024 GMC YUKON- Conroe, TX
We were driving on the highway when the service lights came on along with the check engine light started flashing. The truck sounded like it hesitated a little, but the lights turned off and it drove his normal. We exited the freeway as we were close to home came home, parked it turned it off and turned it back on to test it, and it hesitated to turn on so we took it straight to the dealership where they repeated the issue. We left it there. They did not call me so I went up to the dealership the following day to check on this and I had not heard from them they told me why they were on the test drive that the engine had locked up. My vehicle was a part of the initial recall. They told me that it passed the inspection and they changed the oil to the new oil that was required and now at 12,000 miles my engine has failed

The vehicle was repaired three times, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 33,000.

2022 GMC YUKON XL- Marion, MI
I was driving down the road and my vehicle went into limp mode, and I had reduced acceleration. I got to my destination then could not reverse the vehicle out of the parking space, reverse would not engage and allow me to have acceleration power. Because the parking space was on an incline we could roll backwards then drive forward, in limp mode, to a nearby mechanic. The vehicle diagnostic codes they got were: no reverse, p0700, p0776 and p18a1. They told us the repair needed would be to remove and replace the valve body assembly for $2,862.40. There were no warning lights that came on prior to the incident. Once the vehicle went into limp mode the check engine light came on. We had a Chevy dealer and got a second opinion at a transmission shop to check the transmission in December 2025, because we were concerned about a possible hard shift when shifting vehicle from park to drive, but both places concluded there were no problems. We now have had it towed to a transmission shop for a second opinion. It is available for inspection. We see a recall issued to other 2022 gmc Yukon xl that does not come up when we put our vin # in, but could possibly apply to our vehicle too is recall #: N252536750.
